  1. With all the above info, maybe an obstruction, but sounds like that you know if all is clear. I would have an extra coax in case this happens again just to try replacement. Could be a break in the conductor of your present coax, which vibration while moving could open, and or close. Only other thing that I can think of, is the possibility of the lnb going bad.

    Again good luck,

    Kay

  2. I had 454 in p30 chassis 1988 Southwind Class A, only thing that worked for me with similar issues, was to go to a racing store, purchase a new solid center plug wires. I tried three different sets of the over the counter sets with carbon center, none of them worked for any length of time. The racing version worked for me three years, and were going strong when I sold her.

This may not be your issue, but a thought to remember.

  3. Is the dish on the roof of the RV?

If so, is the dish an automatic signal finder? If the same coax was used in both places, and was not unhooked, the possibility that the elevation was a little off could be the culprit.

Or if the coax was unhooked then rehooked at the campground, possibly the center conductor was not making contact properly. I had a same situation on my last outing, I unhooked the coax then reseated it, and it came back to life.

Also, did you go through setup, on receiver at the new location? If so, the possibility that wrong dish setting may have occurred, ie round versus slimline, or vice versa.

Hope you find the answer, Kay

  4. I have heat pumps on the roof with heat strips in them, which change to heat strips at 40 degrees. I also have an infrared cool touch 1500 watt maximum heater. The kind that Bob Villa used to advertise. The infrared heater was the best investment so far. I have been in 11 degree weather with this arrangement, and never had to call on propane.

  5. Honda CRV tows well, 30 mpg avg. Automatic is towable 4 wheels down. Many other good ones if you are willing to drive manual shift, or pay the price to add transmission cooler to auto.

Also if you are looking for a used suv, Saturn Vue was a good one that needs no conversion. I'm sure there are many others but these are a few, with the Honda as a new choice being my favorite.

    Good luck hunting,

    Kay

  6. If there is no room under the coach for a black water tank, you could install a tank on the floor of the coach, covered by a nice looking plywood housing, and a shortened version of an RV potty, which are readily available from many RV parts stores. Of course you must work out a way to drain the tank.

If you are using a windows computer, bring up paint and load your photo in, then resize your picture there.

    Happy trails,

    Kay

  7. The Wranglers of that vintage that I have looked at does have a manually shifted transfer case. To flat tow, simply set transfer case in neutral and auto transmission in park. Also you can install the hitch pin adapter can be bolted right on to the existing bolts that hold the front bumper, unless of course you just want be fancier than that. Be sure to set the key lock to accessory position to unlock the steering wheel.

I disconnect my battery to prevent drain, with a battery disconnect.

Good luck, I also like those old toys.

  8. I love your idea, my coach was converted by me, so I have a love for conversions. I agree that you should keep us up to date on your progress. Mine is my third class A, so I tried to make sure that the things that I didn't like would not be present in this one. Rich's suggestion for wire traces and plumbing shields is very good. Traces can be hidden by valences, and plumbing shields work nicely next to the floor along walls.

    Good luck, and happy motoring.

  9. Alabama does not require a CDL to operate an RV, be it a motorhome or pull behind, unless the rig pulling the pull behind must be driven by a CDL driver. I.E. you could be pulling your trailer with a big rig (18) wheeler type tractor. Here is a link to the Alabama web site that might be helpful. http://revenue.alabama.gov/motorvehicle/registration_faq.cfm

Good luck with your motorhome, Kay

  10. Hello Gerald,

I do not own a prosine2500, but looking up the spec's on it, it appears to be an inverter/charger. If this is the only means of charging the house batteries then I think it would be unwise to turn off the unit, as this would mean that the house batteries would lose their charge while hooked up to shore power. I'm sure that an owner of such a unit has a better answer, but until then, I would not just disengage the unit.

    Good luck, Kay

  11. I have a wireless system now, have had wired before, and will go back to wired when I have to replace again. I have a much better wireless than the last one, and it works ok, but sometimes with wireless there a little rf interference with most wireless systems on the market. Reason for a three camera system, is to place camera two and three on the left and right mirrors, aimed so that any vehicle or other obstruction can be detected mainly when making a turn. Some other ideas for a two camera system include placing the second one showing the trailer hitch for hooking up purposes. These are only a few reasons for multiple systems, as a lot of people have their own ideas, so let your imagination be your guide.

Good luck with your choice, and happy trails, Kay

  12. I'm with Rich about a small inverter to run just about any brand of small led tv, as they have very low input current needs.

But Camping World has Jensen brand 12 volt in several sizes, and almost any truck stop carries 12 volt TV's. Only problem with most of these is, they are a lot more expensive than just using an inverter. I have a Vizio 24 inch, and a vizio 42 inch that run on one 500 watt inverter with power to spare.

    Good luck with your search

  13. If 225 70R 22.5 is the correct size, as stated by the dealer and the oe size located as Brett says. Here is a link, I hope that no one thinks that I'm pushing anyone, but this has advertised Michelin, and appears to be fmca approved dealer.

    http://www.dickmantires.com/tiresbysize/22570195info.html

That size fits 6.00 to 6.75 rim, and is used a lots in China, and on some trucks such as Hino.

    Good luck in your search,

    Kay

  14. 2 seconds was a bit long to hold that start switch. Flashing the field, means just that. This only requires a short arc on the brushes to set the polarity of a generator. Once the generator starts genning electricity, holding any extra time can cause 120 or 240 volts to surge backwards into your 12 volt system. So now I would look for blown fuses in the 12 volt system, hope that is all that is wrong with your fuel pump.

I recomend that you only hold the start button a little longer on the next startup, not try to push start button after generator is running.

    Better luck,

    Kay

  15. Could be one of many things that has gone wrong. Start by checking for output of ac voltage at the generator with a volt/ohm meter, or 120 volt test light. If the voltage is there, I would first look at the transfer switch, and make sure that it is working correctly. If no voltage is present at the generator, there is circuit breakers just above the start button on your generator, make sure they are on, if they are on, your generator has v belts that move power from motor to the generator, these may be old and have broken. These are just a few of many other things that might be wrong, but is a starting point. I have a generator exactly the same model that I bought at a good price because it didn't gen, it was the v-belts broken.

    Good luck,

    Kay

  16. Sounds like a weak battery or batteries. Have you put a volt meter on the house batteries, and the chassis batteries? Not sure which bank your cord reel works off of, but I suspect it is the house batteries. When you started the coach, the alternator was running, and the amperage probably increased. I'm sure that the shore cord was unplugged at that time, which would indicate that your inverter/charger was not supplying any current to the house batteries. Hope this helps explain what is happening, and can lead you to proper remedies.

    Good luck,

    Kay
