  1. I have a call with Verizon tomorrow to try and get this sorted out. Thanks for your patience.
  2. Hi. Technomadia did pick the article up. It is here: https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/fmca-tries-again-new-verizon-unlimited-plan-announced/ This is a website they run.
  3. I will check on this tomorrow. I did respond with more detail in the other thread.
  4. Hi Bill. New members and past members do have access to the plan details. If you click on this link, it’s not giving you the plan details? https://www.fmca.com/benefits/verizon.html When new members go to FMCA.com, they see a red box at the top that says “FMCA has a new Verizon mifi member benefit”. Click here to learn more. It then takes you to the page on the link above. If the person wants to join to take advantage, at the bottom it says join. It also gives the option to login if you have an account. If you already have an account, when you login the same message in quotes above should be in your member profile. Once you click on the learn more button, it will take you to the same page on the link above. At the bottom, instead of saying join or login, it says sign me up. Once you click on that it will check your member record to see if your membership is good for two years. Since the deal is only for FMCA members, and the contract is two years, the requirement is your dues need to be paid for two years out. Let me know if you are still have issues. Sorry for the confusion.
  5. Are you on Verizon's portal when getting that error? I know they were having some issues due to high page usage. Try again in a few minutes. Sorry for the inconvenience. FYI- There is no limit to how many FMCA members sign up for the plan. Every member can do it.
  6. Hello, Your membership must be paid out two years from today to sign up for the benefit. Which means you need to be good through 11/8/19.
  7. We also have two new member only benefits. Roadside Assistance for $69 per year, which covers both your RV and any car in your household. Rate can be locked in for up to three years. Other is the Verizon benefit launched today. Unlimited Verizon mifi for $49.99 per month plus taxes.
  8. The link Brett provided has price and all of the details. Don't need to be a member to view the page.
  9. Manholt, This is exactly why employees and board members are very hesitant to post on the forums. I am trying to be helpful, so if what I am posting is considered nonsense, I can just step away and let members converse. FMCA is a non-profit. But like any other entity, at some point you must break even. It hasn’t happened in a while. You are a governing board member who is involved. You see the financials. How is what I’m saying nonsense? No one puts me up to posting on here. I try to be helpful, but I’m starting to sense I may not be.
  10. One comment and one question. We just launched roadside for $69 per year, and you can lock it in for 3 years. You will be hard pressed to find that pricing that covers both your RV and car. People want roadside, regardless of age. We will be teasing another benefit launch tomorrow that will go live next week. It is a benefit that people want no matter what age you are. It will be offered at a price you could not come close to on your own, or with any other organization. We are seeking out benefits that FMCA members can take advantage of that cannot be found anywhere else. That is the beauty of FMCA. We are a non profit. Which is why we can offer things to our members that other clubs cannot because they are profit driven. We have e a medical evacuation policy that is included with dues. Any other organization would charge you well over 100 bucks for the policy. I am all ears about what benefits members would like to have. We are and will continue to add benefits to attract members of all ages. My question is simple. I keep seeing we are going to turn into just another Good Sam. That is a pretty blanket statement. Can you elaborate on why you feel that way? Not tying to be argumentative at all. I just keep seeing the statement with no support.
  11. Definitely before my time at FMCA, which has been about 4 years.
  12. The study I referred to was done years ago. It was a readership survey of our members. Not a survey Ross and I administered for the purposes of the towable vote.
  13. Come on Bill. The ballots are going to a CPA firm that counts them for us. It is a bit insulting to hint that anyone at FMCA is fixing the vote.
  14. There was a member survey done years ago, and that was one of the questions. Don’t have it in front of me, so I don’t recall when it was done.
  15. I know the premiums we pay and the claims Seven Corners pays out.
  16. Anyone in insurance will tell you that the more people to spread the risk, the more likely the cost per member will go down. Doesn't mean that will be the case every time. Yes our membership did grow, but so did the claims. The fact of the matter is towables are a younger average age. The younger you are, the less medical issues you have. If we can increase membership with younger towable owners, naturally the cost per member will go down because they won't have as many claims as our current membership.
  17. It was based on how many members we had at the time. Also the loss ratio at the time. Loss ratio is what Seven Corners uses to determine their rates. We could only use the data we had available. The rate changed 10/1/16, so anything before that would have been useless in projecting what the new rate would be. New rates started on 10/1/17, and I can assure you the rate was not reduced per member. It actually was more than we projected.
  18. Not sure. We have put a notice on the front cover of the magazine, on the front page of the website, in the newsletter, digital magazine announcement etc.
  19. The board is and has been trying different initiatives to turn membership around. I can tell you what did not work- sitting on our hands and doing nothing. Membership lost every year from 2004-2016. Membership gains occurred when we partnered with RVillage. When we ramped up marketing efforts. I applaud the board for trying something.....anything to curb the bleeding. I invite you to visit the national office and tell me where we are wastefully spending money.
  20. Vote count update- 4,789 ballots returned so far.
  21. Membership did grow this year. Problem is we spent a lot of marketing dollars to make that happen. That 3,500 membership gain has not come close to solving our financial issues. FMCAssist just went up 53.5% effective 10/1. Agreement is signed through end of July, and the governing board will again decide if we continue to carry it. Governing board approved carrying it when the 2018 fiscal year budget was passed. The revenue figure in exhibit A shows how much we collect per member. All revenue- not just dues.
  22. I promise you that we will have some very attractive benefits for not only younger people, but all ages.
