US Veterans Day and Canada's Remembrance Day
revrichard replied to revrichard's topic in Veterans Corner
Thank you for the great information Howie. Best regards, Richard "Doc" -
Happy Veterans day to our US Military veterans and a respectful Remembrance Day to our Canadian Military veterans. Today is the day that we remember all the men and women that served in our military. Your FMCA Military & Veterans Chapter officers wish each our US veterans a Happy Veterans Day and a heartfelt wishes for a dignified day to our Canadian members on Remembrance Day. Thank you all for your service. We also extend our thank you to the family of the service member for your support and sacrifices. Our families sacrificed a lot for us.

I can relate to that one Wayne. The wife served in the USMC and she too loves to "Play Cards" at WalMart and Sams Club. I also fold....LOL

I have a newer Leprechaun (registered in Michigan) and it is less than $1000 a year. It has gone up each year but nothing drastic like what you have experienced.

Thank you for the update Ross. I see that on the FMCA Renew Membership page that the five year renew is still an option for $300. A savings of $75 over the yearly renewal. Hopefully people will take that before it is gone. Even at a three year registration, members save $20. May not sound like much yet all those "not much" sure can add up to "a lot."

Welcome Mr. Bear!

Perhaps in the future the FMCAssist will be an optional member benefit. Opting out would then lower the annual membership rate. Renewing for five years at a time is also cheaper so that will save money too. Just some thoughts...

Here is an article from Military Times that talks about it. 3 Million disabled veterans, caregivers & more to gain military shopping benefits.

I use the Weather Underground phone app and a NOAA Weather Radio with SAME Code capability. I have used several La Crosse wireless weather stations as well. I have yet to add another La Crosse weather station to the RV I have now. I let the last station I had go with the previous RV. There are several modes of weather stations marketed by La Crosse too.

Thank you for that info! I will add that to my Road Atlas as a bypass.

I followed the RV GPS and it ended up taking me up over Teton Pass in the middle of May. Ended up in a snow storm. Now I review the route the GPS gives me with a trucker road atlas. I do not want to repeat that Teton Pass adventure.

Traveled it several times in a 33' Class C (gas engine). As jleamont stated, follow the truck routes through the mountains. There are some steep grades on Hwy 30 by McConnellsburg and Fort Loudon.

Hopefully the program will be made available to those who drive RVs that use gasoline. I wonder if that is something that is in the works.
