  1. Basically you can replace the pump with almost any rv pump.  The fittings have a flex hose to each port to isolate the pump noise so location of the fittings is not critical. As mentioned you can upgrade if you wish to a higher volume pump but remember that may increase you water usage.

Thanks DD, The axle is not going to be moved or any bolts removed  other then both end bolts, in any way to replace the tract bar.

The information as I read you reply - is to measure from the frame rail to the wheel and that both sides should be equal, with a tolerance of  7 mm / 9/32 in. of the center.

Now if I loosen the mounting bolts and the track bar length of the new one and the old one are equal - things should be fine and the frame rails should not move relative to the axle if nothing else is loose.

    Rich.

Once the track bar is adjusted at the correct axle ride height I would loosen the axle u bolts and retorque them.   This will release any preload one way or the other,  reducing wear on pivot parts.

  3. What I have done in the past is to square up the axle to the frame rails.  Set the frame rails on jack stands level and set the axle on jack stands level ride height and measure from the side of the frame to the face of the wheel mount surface.  I have done this numerous times when changing axles.

I appreciate all the suggestions and information on pricing. Seems like for a truly custom tank the price I was quoted isn't outrageous. Right now I'm leaning towards getting the tank made like we want, but with the price being what it is it's going to have to wait till the end of the season.

So, for now I'm going to be enrolling in an on-the-job training program and teach myself to weld the polyethylene to fix the tank that we've already got. I found a welding kit for only $75, and then I went Midland Plastics here in town to get some cut-offs from their bin to practice with. (They sell scrap by the pound to hobbyists) Apparently the technique isn't complicated, but it does take some practice to avoid ruining the tank by melting it instead of welding it. The process is pretty cool actually - a highly focused heat gun blowing into a hollow shoe, and a slot in the shoe to feed the poly 'welding rod'. The heat melts the edges of the pieces being welded, and the shoe helps to guide the welding rod into place as it melts into the works.

The problem I'm dealing with is about a 6" long section of one of the top seams that looks to never have been properly bonded. There are two rows of welding rod laid down, but the two panels look like they just didn't bond properly. At first I thought I did the damage when I repaired a leaking flange seal, but there is a buildup of dirt in the open seam that looks to have been there quite a while. I'll have to carefully scrap out the dirt and then run a couple of rows of welding rod into the seam.

Easy peazy. I will post photos win or lose once it's done.

After I watched a plastic shop do it I said to myself I can do it.  I bought the plastic welder and tried but its not as easy as it looks. About like trying to weld sheet lead with stick lead.  I have done some repairs but nothing major.  I have cut down a top of a water tank but had a couple of pin leaks, fortunately since it was on the top it was not a problem.

  5. Using a cover is the last thing I would do.  The hassle of the bulk of the fabric plus the wear and tear on the finish,  although you find a few individuals that use them with some degree of success.  Absolutely a garage or at least a roof over the motorhome is mandatory in my book.  Just my own opinion.  It doesn't make sense to me after spending all that money on a coach that you leave it outside.

I watched them weld some plastic holding tanks out of plastic in Las Vegas about 30 years ago.  I was doing a bus conversion and needed 4 tanks.  I thought the price was a little high at about $400 each so I went with production blow molded tanks at about $200 each from a company in Los Angeles.  I think your price is about right.

  7. Was in NY area once in 1978, stayed in a city park in Bayonne NJ because the chief of police made the arraignments for the foot police to check on us every 15 minutes.  Because our host worked in the World Trade Center we rode the subway into the basement of the WTC.  She had us escorted up to the roof before the general public and there was a small crowd at one corner.  The guy who had climbed the outside of the building to the roof was there re signing his autograph because it faded after a year.  I don't need to go to NYC again as that was enough!  A lot more of the world to see.

The Tach and Speedo still "float" after being turned off. I will disassemble and clean as indicated and hope it works.

The tach and speedo do not need cleaning if they are accurate when running.  If they are slow to respond to a change then you want to clean the bearings.  Battery voltage should be about 12.5 + - .2 volts unless the engine or charger is on, then the voltage should be about 14.2 volts.

How would you reset the Brake light proportional valve?

Disconnect the wire and see if the light goes off.  If it does then look at the end of the valve, It requires the shuttle valve to be in the center, on some there is a stem that is hooked to the shuttle and it can move the valve to center.  The reason the valve is off center is the brake system is out of balance causing the valve to move off center.  Too move it may take opening the bleed valve on one wheel in the front and one in the back.  If the light doesn't go off when disconnecting the wire something else is amiss.  See if the reservoir has a sensor and if it is low.

Ross or DD, where do these connect on the TV? I need one for the front LED TV.

I use an optical cable from the optical out on the tv to the optical in on the sound bar.  My tv is hinged at the top so I put a shelf in the existing cabinet to hold my printer and other stuff.

  11. I have a 43 inch 4K Vizio in the front with Directv HD receiver hooked up with hdmi and a sound bar and sub woofer.  Optical cable on the sound and hdmi on the blue ray player.  My remote controls both the tv and the sound bar.  The 4K picture seems to make a regular high definition picture a little better.  With the proper source it has 4 times the resolution of standard HD.
