  1. We have a Progressive Surge Suppressor hardwired and in addition to high/low voltage protection it is also polarity sensing. It senses polarity during initialization when I first connect to shore power and several times has refused to switch on when the polarity was wrong. In the event of low power cut off (over voltage too) it starts a timer after a shut down when power comes back into range and then switches back on. I imagine that setting an autoformer in line ahead of the surge suppressor(sort of belt and suspenders) would assure adequate power to run the AC and protect the pets so long as there is power available. Please note I am a financial guy not an electrician. It is altogether possible (likely?) that I am wrong.
  2. I guess I will have to add the squeegee routine to the open vents went showering. Thank you for the great explanation.
  3. Any of the systems that depend on the coach air brakes will not work on a gas chassis without the addition of an auxiliary air compressor on the coach. There is one system that does have that option, but it was far more expensive than the US Gear system when I was shopping. I have four cross country trips, over 30,000 (we take the long way) with the US Gear system and would not want to be without it. Brake in box systems are fine for people with multiple cars to set up to tow, but they are a bit more of a hassle to setup and take down. Especially if you need to break down the tow in traffic it could be a real pain. Don't ask how I know about breaking down the tow in traffic Paul
  4. I am delighted to find this updated forum and hope many others join in so it becomes THE place to meet. I was a bit confused when I posted my first comment on a blog to note that the time stamp was 7 hours later than I was! After some digging through "My Controls" I found the place to set my local time, important to me as I can lose track of when am too easily as it is. I was stunned to find that the default is Greenwich Mean Time. How many of us are actually in England? It might be more rational to set the default time to one of the US time zones. If you can't decide which, use the one for the next convention! Paul
  5. Our withdrawal is different, we are living in our Southwind for January through April each year. We tend to move on in a week or less as the fancy moves us. We are into our 2nd week in Las Cruces, NM and getting on each other's nerves because we cannot move on until our repaired convection/microwave is reinstalled. In addition to our daily workouts and sight seeing we added in shopping for real estate because we like the area so much and we thought it would be fun. It occupied a day, but it was stressful because we really are not in agreement on what we would want if we found it. We canceled the 2nd day of shopping because we did not want to waste the realtor's time and stress ourselves and more. My wife is "nesting" on her new computer, making it hers and I am exploring this new community. We really are ready to move since we hate feeling tied down by outside forces.
