  1. Quick Update ... the coach I am looking at unfortunately may not be what we get. The background on this thread : My family is ready to plunge into the 36-38ft coach from a 32ft (Actually 31 + some) coach. I am really kinda disappointed because this 2003 Forrest River Georgetown is exactly what we wanted. It is 5 years older than Pop Pops Georgetown and we were going to surprise him with us Buying a Georgetown and make him smile from ear to ear. The owner is not being easy going as he could be as far as an independent inspector. I CAN NOT afford a coach with delamination unless it was free. I can not justify to the Governor (the wife) why I spent money on a Motorhome not knowing if it had body issues. I know it needed a good bath and the price reflected that and the vinyl that was on the coach is starting to fade a bit which out Sightseer has none of that. In fact it is as perfect as it can be for its age so ...adding the possibility of Delamination to the mix and I might may be living in it if I get rid of a perfectly good coach for a problem child. 32 Ft aint enough ... SO, I shifted my focus to other coaches at this point and maybe this was the Lords way of telling us that its time to go bigger and diesel. Tomorrow I look at a 38ft Santara and Currently making appointment to see a 36ft Yellowstone Country Club, and a 36ft Winnie Chieftain (ALL DIESEL) So am am terrified because I hear stories about diesels and the EXPENSE of the diesel. However, they seem to hold value and if I can tow more that means I gain more bang for the buck even if it costs a few more pennies. We shall see. Thanks for everyones help - i am kinda heart broken but its cool. Glad I didnt tell the kids about this ... Keon
  2. I have a 08 T and C and a lube pump kit is the ONLY way you can tow wheels down and from what others have said its a PITA. We made plans to buy a dolly in the event we had to tow the mini van or the Saab. Its probably cheaper that the pump to find a used dolly

    E15 In My RV

So this i am SURE has been a debate for years but I am curious to see what the "new" protocol is for gas. I am a new Gas MH owner and I am terrified to leave Gas in my coach this winter. I have a boat and witnessed the destruction of 2 Carbs that I had to have rebuilt back to back seasons. I have also been the unfortunate victim of plastic small engine carbs biting the dust. 30-45 min of running fuel doesn't seem to be enough to keep my from running into problems come April for my genny so what are folks doing in the Mid West and places north who may get snow so bad they cant get to run the genny in the winter? THEN if there is not enough panic about DEVIL GAS there is the talk of e15. Now my research says that E15 is approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for vehicles 2001 and newer but if my 2003 coach is running the same motor that was in the 2000 model year whats to say I wont run into issues? Then there is the issue of voiding warranties ... Use of these non-mentioned fuels and fuel additives does not necessarily void a vehicle warranty but lets face it, we drive MH for fun and vacation so I doubt seriously - any of us have enough cash on hand to fight a major manufacture in court if this becomes an issue? And even if we were all super rich and had Jetplanes its cheaper to just buy another on at that point. Let me stand and say the Hayes Clan is not sitting on that type of cash and I cant be the only one concerned. Not in all fairness I talked to a few service techs that work for Chrysler and they claim vehicle manufacturers may not deny a warranty claim based on use of a different fuel if that fuel did not contribute to the problem for which the warranty claim is made but Mercury did int he 90s when they started putting tracers in their oil claiming engine failure was due to people "NOT USING" proper oil. So, is my fear justifiable or am I overreacting?
  4. Hello Michelle and I along with our (then 8y/o) Kyle will be headed to Disney World in Orlando. We will be there from October 21st 2017 to October 27th. We are from MD and would be headed down I95 and stopping in SC for a little rest and food before heading into Orlando. More than likely we will be at the Fort Wilderness Campground and wanted to put the word out if anyone wanted to meet us there. We typically hit all four Disney parks as well as some local attractions. We home-school and will be using Epcot as a science visit more than a "Amusement" deal so it would be great for other home schoolers if there are any to hang out with us. We know of some awesome restaurants and cool places for us to hang out so just putting the info out there if yall might be headed that way or thinking about it.
  5. IDK ... but I figured if I can help someone avoid problems in South GA I would comment.
  6. Hey Herman Interesting you mention TX because this family lives out side of Houston so that may be an option before I drove it home to Baltimore. Keon
  7. No I was in my Chevy Trailblazer ... Here is the problem with the whole thing. I was doing 10 miles less than that he said and I could prove it. Lets say someone was in a Coach and they were doing the speed at 70mph ... he would have got them at 80 and it wont fair at all. That ticket would have been well over 1K. When I told the ADA down there that I was coming with proof they offered me to plea out to no points no Super speed no driving record thing. It was cheaper for me to pay $422 than to get a flight rent a car pay for hotel gas and then come back home. I CANT STAND TURNER COUNTY GA and I am a good Christian man I like everybody. Them folks in South GA need JESUS
  8. Not sure if this is the correct place but I am interested in having someone redo all of the logos and pinstripes and art work on a coach should I purchase it. Not that I am a snob but I want the coach to be a representation of somethings and I cant pull a car thats all waxed and shined with a dull faded coach. I cant disrespect the coach like that. It is our home away from home. So this coach is in need of a "face-lift" as it wasn't covered and sat in the sun a good while because the owners were sick and couldn't take care of it. Provided I dont find anything horrible my family will take it off their hands because they need the money and we NEED a 38ft coach. Who would I go to to have this done and -------------- am i looking at a gagillion bucks to do it?
  9. I know this is an older post but Ill share my story as well. Coming from Florida with the Family got yanked in Turner County GA but a county sheriff sitting up on the hill by an exit ramp. "CLAIMS" i was going 94 in a 70 coming up I75 ... seriously? Didnt argue took the ticket and requested to got to court. How about they plea out the case and it was cheaper for me to take the plea than it was to pay a lawyer to fight a crooked system. They get you going an coming. What can you do?
  10. I285 .... yeah I beg to differ on it being "better" and will say it depends. If you can leave out later in the evening I75 is the better option IMHO - but keep in mind I am from Baltimore where I have to deal with DC traffic so my perception of horrible traffic is different from most. Atlanta scares me to the point I never want to drive there again in a car much less our coach. 8 lanes and still traffic headaches --- someone help me understand that. Seriously, I285 daytime and if your later in the evening or at night I75 is shorter and less hectic. Good luck on your trip
  11. Well I happen to own a SAAB rag top and I will tell you that they are tow-able on a Dolly but not flat. Bellow is a Picture of our SAAB Story. I will tow it on a dolly and its not to bad of a car. The Miata is rear wheel and that Will require a shaft disconnect. BMW and Mercedes are potentially Dolly Tow-able if they are front wheel drive. The Eclipse are not flat tow able but I cant remember the reason why off the top of my head. Jeep Wranglers are the all around favorite four wheel down from everyone I see. unfortunately they are expensive compared to everything you mentioned. Your best bet is dolly tow a front wheel drive drop top --- or spend 8K on a used Wrangler. #Sorry
