klparker Report post Posted August 19, 2017 Have 2001 Itasca Horizon, with Freedom 15 Inverter/Charger. When connected to 50amp shore power only the fridge and AC works. No electrical outlets. Turn inverter on via xantrex Freedom basic remote and outlets run. The remote does not indicate AC in when it is and does not appear to be charging batteries. Have checked/tested breakers and they are OK. Have unplugged positive cable from batteries to reset inverter, have unplugged telephone line from remote and reconnected and remote still does not recognize shore power or power from generator. In addition have installed new batteries and remote indicates battery amp is running down and not recharging. Help appreciated.
wolfe10 Report post Posted August 19, 2017 IF your are safe working around 120 VAC: Check for 120 VAC at the inverter coming from main breaker box. If present, you will need to check the fuse inside the inverter.
klparker Report post Posted August 19, 2017 Face of inverter has two fuses, 30 input, and 20 inv/chg; both are working. Tested power to ac input and power is getting to converter.
manholt Report post Posted August 19, 2017 Fuse is also inside. Is your inverter/converter 2 separate units?
klparker Report post Posted August 19, 2017 One unit; will check further for the fuse inside unit.
wolfe10 Report post Posted August 19, 2017 The Freedom 15 is both an inverter with built-in smart charger. The external breakers are for 120 VAC OUT. If 120 VAC present on the IN line, you do need to check the fuse inside the unit. Sure, it could be something more serious, but that is the least expensive and most common cause of failure. klparker Report post Posted August 19, 2017 There is power coming in and out. The power will not disperse to the electrical outlets, or microwave unless you change the remote to invert. Even with generator no power is coming to outlets etc. The remote board does not recognize shore power or generator power.

This would keep the coach batteries from charging and still supply AC when you are connected to the generator and or Shore power. This would match the issue you described, if I'm reading things correctly. Rich.
dickandlois Report post Posted August 19, 2017 There is a small fuse inside the inverter that operates the transfer switch circuit. Need to find the picture of the circuit board that it is located on. You need to remove all AC source power !!! Remove the top cover and inside there is a 1-1/4 in. old style fuse. The wiring for a single output inverter input and output system. Still need to find the circuit board pictures !! Rich. There are 2 internal fuses, one marked in red is under the board. The second one is marked in black >> One needs to work carefully and have skills working with electronic circuits to measure the fuses for continuity and take pictures of EVERY connection you plan on removing to reassemble things in the proper orientation and order !!! Doc4.pdf This is a PDF picture of the fuse locations that you can expand.
