Area Rug For Laminate Wood Floor

Recommended Posts

What type of rug is recommended for laminated wood flooring? I have been told that certain backings can damage or discolor the flooring..

Anything you can find at Wall Mart, I have a couple on my laminated floor in the house...no problems after 10 years!  Like any area rug, if you don't clean the rug and the floor under it?!  LOL

We have both wool and synthetic backed area rugs and use rug pads under each which are fibre and do not stick to or leave evidence of having been used on our tile floors.

Please be reminded, in the event you have heated floors the use of area rugs in not recommended as they trap heat and can lead to burnout of the floor heating elements.

I have one in front between the chairs and it's there to prevent tracking dirt into coach.  Whenever I use the floor heat, I roll up the rug!  Remember that if you have heated floors, turn it off before you bring in the slides to depart!
