2007 Monaco Dynasty 42' Slide Problem

Recommended Posts

Your front slide is hydraulic and the cylinders are push/pulls. The units are HWH and I would give them a call. Please be patient, sometime it takes awhile for the tech to respond.

There could be several causes of this loss of hydraulic pressure allowing the slide to move. These include:

1.  A leak-- should be able to see it. Look particularly at hose ends.

2. A solenoid at the HWH motor/pump leaking internally.

3. On many there is a manual "T" handle at the solenoids, on others, just a screw and lock nut-- it could be slightly open and just need tightening.

The Hydraulic fluid picks up dirt over time as the Rams are extended and retracted into the cylinders. Also the cycling of the system drags dirt into the cylinder seal surface and the seals can weep fluid. It is never a bad idea to change the hydraulic fluid after a few years.

Some cylinders have grease fittings that use lithium grease to clean the seals and maintain the seal integrity .

Brett mentioned  some good items to check , the lines flex at the connection points in many cases and over time form stress cracks in the hydraulic lines. One also has to remember that coach builders consider price above quality. There is high quality hydraulic line  made with materials that have better  over all range of temperature flexibility.

Most hydraulic lines are quit flexible when warm but as temperatures drop become quite stiff.

Rich.

Slide creeps in.

When slides are all in and Jacks are up (if you have Jacks), check level of hydraulic fluid...it should be at the top mark, if not add fluid.
