JohnBarkle3 Report post Posted December 5, 2018 The air horn on my 2007 HR started blaring when we were parked at our campsite in Maine two months ago. The engine and ignition switch were off and the only way I could get the horn to stop was to turn the ignition switch on. We drove to the next campsite and I noticed that while the horn worked normally the windshield wipers and the cruise control did not. After about fifty miles the horn stopped working and the cruise control and wipers worked fine. All was OK until our return to home in Las Vegas about a month later except the air horn did not work. Since I want to sell the MH, I attempted to have the horn repaired and took it to United Auto Service which was recommended to me by Johnny Walker RV. They found a melted horn relay, replaced it, and the horn now works. The cruise control and the wipers do not. United is not able to find the problem, say they need a wiring diagram because they believe the problem is in the wiring harness, and suggest I take it back to the dealer. Problem is that Roadmaster made the chassis, Monaco the coach and both are out of business. Any suggestions. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I need some information> Does your Coach have a (Smart steering Wheel) That kind of setup has a number of switches mounted right into the steering wheel. Is the windshield wiper switch mounted on the wheel or on the dash? I have the drawings for the most common smart wheel used on coaches built in 2007 and the problem could be in that area of the wiring. A fried relay leads me to think that it melted because of a short - that caused it to over heat. When that happened the wiring for the cruse control and wipers got involved. Do you have the owners manual for the HR ? This is the starting information I need - hopefully we can narrow it down from there. With out the Coach chassis wiring - I'm hopping a member on the forum has the drawings or where to find them. Rich, Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I originally thought that the problem would be in the steering wheel or column, however United tells me they have checked the wheel and all is OK (if that means anything). They are all component related, i.e. appliances, heater, sound system, etc. There is one large book that covers the, RV, but nothing concerning wiring other than the location of fuse panels (which have been checked). You're theory about what happened was exactly my thinking at the time it happened. John, Does your information picture the different fuse boxes? Thinking the fuse /circuit will be located in the front left outside bay just below the drivers seat. You could look there and see if there is a bad one or better yet labeled for wiper motor an or connivance fuse(s) Rich. DO you have a smart steering wheel ? There are several fuse boxes in the coach including the one you have described in the left outside bay. This box has been checked and all fuses were ok. hermanmullins Report post Posted December 5, 2018 When you have the TroubleShoot PDF copied, call VIP Vehicle Improvement Products. Asked for a tech. They will walk you through the entire test. I am willing to bet what you have is a bad control module. (A black box) My module is located in the Electrical Bay just in front of my drivers side wheel. manholt Report post Posted December 5, 2018 John. Rich You do not have a smart steering wheel, you have one with the wiper system on one side and CC on the other.
