Sewer hatch seal

Recommended Posts

I own a 2018 Ventana LE 4002.  The hatch for the sewer hose is in the base of the plumbing cabinet.  When I thread the sewer hose through it, there's a significant gap between the hose and the outer rim of the hatch.  I'd like to be able to keep mice, snakes, insects from coming through that gap and into the belly of the rig.  Any suggestions on what to use to seal off that gap?

Well, that's absolutely BRILLIANT!  Thanks, Richard!!!

We have those Critter guards on all of our hatches. They work as designed

Well, I have the opposite problem. I had to install new deck hatches, bought them from a  boat store. I bought the same size to fit the bolt pattern, but the threads are larger and coarser, I have to wiggle the hose end around for a minute to get it through the smaller opening. If any critter ever does get into my wet-bay they can go no further, it's completely sealed by plastic and metal inside.

My fresh water hose however threads though another same size deck hatch, I'm going to install a 1" or 1.5" PVC pipe plug in that deck hatch cover to reduce opening size while maintaining the OEM 4" deck hatch.
