txtiger Report post Posted February 4, 2020 I am thinking of visiting Mathews Arm camp ground in Shenandoah NP in May 2020. I have a 42 foot Class A pulling a Jeep Wrangler. Has anyone with a big rig driven there? Any problems with access especially on Skyline Dr? It looks like the north entrance is no problem. I have heard that there is a tunnel going in from the south

jleamont Report post Posted February 4, 2020 Have you checked reviews? Several times I have used Google Street view and kept clicking down the road to the highway just to feel out that roads to and from. https://www.campgroundreviews.com/
wayne77590 Report post Posted February 4, 2020 A look at the National Parks information page provided this: "Note: RVs, camping trailers, and horse trailers are welcome, but be prepared to shift into low gear. Be sure you will clear Marys Rock Tunnel (just south of Thornton Gap entrance from Route 211) at 12'8"." If you go to the Mathew Arm Campground Website there is a map of all the sites. If you click on one it will bring up information including the length of the driveway.
