1rickistic Report post Posted February 20, 2022 My Gulfstream class A pushes water out of the fresh water tank after I raise the leveling jacks after being hooked up to shore water. Anyone deal with this problem?
hermanmullins Report post Posted February 21, 2022 Welcome to the Forum. Most likely your check valve is bad in your pump. Herman
wayne77590 Report post Posted February 21, 2022 I'd like to have a little more detail on just what is happening, if you can.

Herman This definitely sounds like the first thing I'd be checking as well. If the pump is still functioning otherwise, you can try: 1) Opening the pump and cleaning it - could just be a piece of sand or other crud/mineral buildup in there keeping the check valve from sealing, 2) Rebuilding the pump - there are kits available. But overall cost of just replacing it is sometimes not much more so it may not make sense. 3) Installing a check valve on the outlet line of the pump to prevent water from the system from backing up past the pump and putting any stress on the check valve inside the pump. On some pump models the check valve is somewhat lightweight, making them easy to damage if the shore water pressure is too high.
theweb@charter.net Report post Posted December 9 I have a class A newmar dutchstar 2020. Wondering if there is a way to empty the fresh water tank without opening a faucet or toilet. I winterized the bus and now I see there is less than a third of fresh water in the tank. Thanks for any help sure thought tank was empty. whiteeagle Report post Posted December 10 (edited) I would think you have a valve right below the fresh tank that drains it...... on a Tiffin, it's in the wet bay right behind the whole sewer discharge drop with the dump valves on it...... I don't understand how you could have winterized it and still have water in your fresh water tank .............being from Northern WI, you need to get that water out of there - out of all lines. all low spots, and remove water filter, filter canister, etc. Before winterizing by heading south in October every year, I winterized thoroughly by starting with pumping 12-15 gallons of RV anti-freeze through the water hose into the fresh tank, remove all filters, flush the fluid through all faucets, toilets, ice maker, washer, dishwasher, inside AND outside shower - everything..... left 5-8 gallons in fresh tank to use in toilet if needed if we drove south later in winter... or leave until spring...... it will all flush our fine when things warm up.
