Deborahheinz Report post Posted November 9, 2023 I have a 2005 Southwind on a Workhouse chassis. I have been noticing a “popping” noise after I pull in and shut the RV off. It’s coming from the back end where the gas tank is located. This week I stopped for gas and it was nearly impossible to get the fuel tank , aka gas tank, lid off. When I got it off it popped like under pressure. I filled motorhome and came home. I’m thinking I have a blocked gas vent?
rayin Report post Posted November 10, 2023 I can remember reading of a similar problem, and the cause was a charcoal canister attached to the frame. That's all I remember. Perhaps a GM truck repair shop will know.
wildebill308 Report post Posted November 10, 2023 I think Ray is on the right track. I would also do a search on the canister. I bet it just need to replace it. Bill
bm02tj Report post Posted November 10, 2023 If you have been topping up after the auto shut off you have wrecked the charcoal canister
