US 285 in Colorado

Question

Going to Pagosa Springs, CO and was wondering how the Hwy, US 285 between US 169 and Denver. Never been on this road before and was wondering how the road was and if there were any thing special to see. Don't mind the Mountains just bad roads. :unsure:

We drove 285 from Hwy 17 to Denver several years ago. The road was in good condition, surface and width were satisfactory. You do have a high pass with switchbacks. If you are OK with the mountains, you will enjoy this drive. Take your time.

Kenosha Pass is 10,001 feet and a 5.3% grade. Just watch for slow moving trucks and Coloradans that think nothing of passing on curves with double yellow 'no passing zones'.
