Michelin FMCA Program Work With The Toad Tires?

Recommended Posts

Unless they have changed something in the last couple weeks, the answer is no...... it is only for large RV tires. My old class A on a Ford chassis takes 235-85 R 16" tires and they don't include those in the program either. I think 19.5 is the smallest tire included in the program.

Currently, the program does not include passenger car tires. But Michelin has not ruled that out for the future.

So, being new to this forum, I hope I can tag on to this line of questioning...

I have a RoadTrek Class B motorhome and as such, qualify as a member of FMCA. I purchased my 2012 RoadTrek in June 2012, and promptly joined FMCA and their affiliate Chapter, RoadTrek International...but apparently do not qualify to purchase LT275R16E tires for my "motorhome" from Michelin.

Might I ask why Michelin does not provide this line of tire to their offering??? These size tires are used on many of the Class B and C motorhomes (I had them on my two previous Class C motorhomes, and replaced original Michelin tires on both of these units when the tires "weather checked"!!!). Furthermore, why has FMCA not pushed for this same treatment of the ALL of its members?

I realize this question has probably been raised before by a Class B or C owner, and apologize if I have not seen this in another forum, but like I said, this is my first time on the FMCA forum page, and the post from Planocat above struck home regarding only "large RV" tires...

Carlon,

Welcome to FMCA and the Forum. The Michilen program is only a few years old. Like most new programs there are some kinks. Hopely they will make some adjustment shortly. Now that it has come to light I am sure the National Board will take a look and talk to Michilen.

I love our 40 ft. DP but I envy you being able to pull into any station and go to any pump. :( Oh well. :)

This program reminds me of "Class A Only" RV Parks. Good Year and Continental both make great RV tires in sizes that will fit our class B, B+ and C motorhomes. If Michelin wanted our business they would include those sizes in their offering so we could replace their dry-rot prone tires with more of the same.

I have bought a lot of michelin tires in the past, but intend to take my business elsewhere in the future.

jgarner,

Welcome to the Forum, Please don't jump in haste to condem Michilen. They are new to the program and need to make some adjustments. Check the program again when you need new tires. They may have made adjustment and will cover smaller RV tires. Please be patiant.

Herman
