David33 Report post Posted November 10, 2012 A biometric lock system's battery is out of order and cannot rechargeable. It is new but not in warranty. Have any idea about it? What is the criteria for purchasing or getting AA battery...?
dickandlois Report post Posted November 10, 2012 David, Rechargeable batteries do degrade over time. How old is the battery and is the system's Name Biometric ? Rechargeable batteries are available from many electronic and from Lowe's or Wall-mart. If its a special battery, then you will need to find one from OEM source or aftermarket supplier. desertdeals69 Report post Posted November 10, 2012 If they are standard AA batteries you can replace them easily. There are different types. Ni Cad, Nickel metal hydride, Lith Ion. Just match up with what you have.
tbutler Report post Posted November 11, 2012 From the original post I assume that the replacement battery should not be a rechargable battery. The best battery for this application is probably the Lithium Ion battery. Lithium Ion batteries are best for applicatons where the battery is on stand-by most of the time and is used only briefly and/or infrequently. They hold their charge for a long time. The are not best suited for constant use applications such as toys or radios. AA Lithium Ion batteries are available at Wal-Mart and other battery supply stores. They are more expensive but well worth the expense for the appropriate application.
