JohnJill Report post Posted May 11, 2014 Batteries are in need of attention, house and engine batteries are a little over a year old, but I think they are missed sized. The house batteries are a group 27 marine (2) and the start batteries are less than 800 cca starting a 350 cat. I'm thinking atleast a group 29 for house and 900 or over for the start and genset. dickandlois Report post Posted May 11, 2014 John, You mentioned that the batteries are a year old, did you replace them or where they in the coach when you purchased it. Did they work OK at first, and have you checked the charging voltage and current ? Could you post some measurements of the battery areas and post a picture or two for the group ? Putting larger batteries into the area, will you have enough room to check and replace the water? Rich.
rsbilledwards Report post Posted June 19, 2014 In my 2001 Safari Zanzibar the original house batteries were group 27 Interstates (4) and the coach chassis batteries were/are larger than the group 29 and are Interstate "Workhorse" units. I would use them again having been in the coach for 13 years and still cranking! B
desertdeals69 Report post Posted June 19, 2014 I would use 2 group 31batteries for the engine and 4 or 6 golf cart batteries for the house.
