gulya Report post Posted September 17, 2014 Although we have been to GS Rallies and a Tiffin rally, this will be our first FMCA event. The pre package we received was kind of vague and did not give much schedule info. Input from members who have attended past rallies would be appreciated. michaelhillhouse Report post Posted September 17, 2014 When we went to the Six State Rally for the first time last year they had a staging area that we pulled into. We were directed to go to the registration desk and we could pick up a rally schedule for the activities and seminars . We were then escorted to the parking area where we stayed for the rest of the meet , we really enjoyed the rally and had allot of fun there. This year we belong to one of the host chapters for the Six State Rally and look forward to being there. I think it is very beneficial for all members to get to go to at least one FMCA Regional rally to see in person what goes on and get to meet some of the officers and people from their area-- even meet the President and or vice president of FMCA . Good Luck and hope you enjoy the Rally Michael
gulya Report post Posted September 18, 2014 Thank you your response Michael, that is similar to others we attended, except they had provided much of the schedule in the pre pack. I had hope someone with specific knowledge would respond with more info.
hermanmullins Report post Posted September 19, 2014 Michael, This year, I know for a fact that FMCA National Officers, Charlie Adcock, FMCA President, Jon Walker, FMCA Vice President, Percy Bell, FMCA Treasurer and at least two Area VPs are all attending Six-State Rally, "Louisiana Hayride" in Shreveport, LA on October 1-2-3-4, 2014. We will have 25 show coaches, Vendors, Seminars and 4 nights of top Notch Entertainment. Don't forget the Ice Cream Social, where each member will get a pint of wonderful, delicious Ice cream. Tom & Carol, due to some problem the Packets for Six-State Rally this year were a little late. When the packets are sent out each year for the Rallies the office only has brief information to send out. All the vendor have not registered and all of the seminars are not set. So rather then send out information that is not correct only a general schedule is sent. Please come and have a good time. huffypuff Report post Posted September 19, 2014 Best for you to get there a day early or the night before the start because they usually have a first timer seminars then. I missed it at Redmond because I got there on my schedule day at 2:00 pm and they had it at about 11:00 am.
memegrand Report post Posted September 19, 2014 This Rally is being put on by the Eastern Area Motor Home Association. We put as much information in our packet as possible. There is a flyer that has our activities listed. As far as scheduling we work on this up to the last minute of the rally and there is constant changes. We are at the fairgrounds right now and still getting more vendors and some cancellations so it is impossibile to get a schedule out until the Rally actually starts. If you look at the web site www.easternarea.com you will find what is there as far as entertainment. Hope this information will be of help to you. If we can be of any other help please call 570-279-0756. John Reynolds National VP Eastern Area
BettyH42 Report post Posted September 20, 2014 John, we are getting ready to start for Ashville tomorrow. Will there be water at the fair grounds? We are concerned about the extra weight of a full tank of water. The motor home doesn't go up the mountains with the ease that it once did. Trying to lighten the load. See you Tuesday Betty Herrmann
BillAdams Report post Posted September 21, 2014 GEAR will be very much like any other FMCA RV rally you have attended. There will be good directions to get there, there will be helpful folks there to get you parked and there will be seminars (mostly sales presentations). The entertainment varies by location and event, but it's pretty hard to tell one for another. That's not meant to be a condemnation of this or any other rally, but having participated in WAY too many rallies, I can tell you that they are all mostly the same with the specific location being the reason to attend or not attend (like the never ending Rocky Mountain chapter Farmington, NM rallies!). memegrand Report post Posted September 21, 2014 Betty, There will be water available when you get here. Tell the parkers when you come in that you need to get water. John
