sgureasko Report post Posted August 1, 2015 Has anyone replaced their RV tires, with Firestone? I need of new tires now. Michelins are not available. Yes, and they are great. For the price difference and only keeping them for about 6 years, they work. Am on the second set.
manholt Report post Posted August 2, 2015 What kind of coach do you have? DP with 22.5 or gas?
BarCliff Report post Posted August 2, 2015 Thank you for your answers. We have a gas, on 19.5 tires.
manholt Report post Posted August 2, 2015 Toyo, Good Year, BF Goodrich should be OK to use. There is also, Kelly Tire,,,,as long as the ply rating is enough for the weight of your coach and steel belted. Good luck.
BarCliff Report post Posted August 3, 2015 Thanks again for the reply. We have decided to go with the Firestone tires. We'll find out how they are by trial. Hope not by error. If we are unhappy with them, we will let everyone know.
modemem Report post Posted August 3, 2015 We bought new 16" Firestones two years ago and have traveled about 1500 miles on them and could not be more pleased with the tires.
tireman9 Report post Posted August 3, 2015 Ran Firestone Transforce HT 16" for 28,000 miles (7 years). One of 6 had sidewall stress crack @28k (long term parking during Winter) so it needed to be replaced. Many / Most Firestone & Bridgestone LT and TBR tires made in one of two plants in USA. Similar tires (BS or FS) would most likely be made in same plant to almost identical specifications.
