Basement A/C: 2001 Winnebago Suncruiser

Looking for information pertaining to servicing basement A/C on a 2001 Winnebago Suncruiser.

Servicing a basement air is basically like servicing any central air unit.

Check all electrical connections. make sure they are clean and tight.

Look at the capacitors and check for bulging and rust. Replace if either are found. Look at the points on the compressor contactor to see if they are pitted or burnt. Replace if needed

If the drains are accessible clean them and check both coils. clean if needed.

Confirm that the fan blades are clean and tight on the shaft. A old tooth brush cleans the squirrel cage just fine.

Oil the fan motor if it has oil ports and check to see that none of the copper lines are touching where they can vibrate and be damaged.

Anything more would require a set of refrigeration gauges, a good understanding of a pressure/temperature chart  and an amp  / volt meter.

Not much to do unless it has stopped working.  What is really critical is that you change the air filter regularly. You can find it under the access panel under the queen bed. 

You can buy the air filters at lowes. 

The unit is a Coleman domestic and the same as Winnebago used until 2010 In many if their models.  

Contact Winnebago service of you need assistance.  They are awesome.

Clean the coils just like home system. If you don't keep both clean, then air flow goes down and current draw up.

So yes, maintenance is important, change the pillow block bearing. 

I suspect you have an Coleman / RV product basement unit.  All components are available. The hard part is removing it.  Mine came out the side. Look/feel for screws on the duct work that is attached. Look closely ant your duct work. TAKE PHOTOS.
