  1. Had to replace house batteries, appeared the previous RV center tried charging batteries and reversed terminals. Radio wires were in poor condition and replaced. Generator had tripped. All is well.
  2. I will talk to them today and see if they have looked at that, thanks!
  3. Thanks for your message. Are you talking about the Automatic Disconnect Switch at door entry that turns off power to coach when in storage? If so, they are going to look at the switch tomorrow. I did not try radio on generator.
  4. I got my 2005 38’ Damon Astoria motorhome out of indoor storage after 5 months, I started the engine once a month with no problems, I was only able to start the 7500 Generac diesel generator twice. Once I got it home in the driveway I made sure all batteries were charged. My radio would not play driving down the road, and there was only power to the coach when plugged in, radio played only when Power cord was plugged in. Does this sound like a Inverter/converter/Fuse problem? Currently at RV shop, they are now sure what is cause. There were no problems when I put it in storage and batteries were new last year.
  5. That was exactly the problem, thank you for your reply. I went to storage unit and put battery charger on the house batteries and it started. They were low from storage non-use. Thanks for suggestion.
  6. All great suggestions, I will try when I get to storage unit this week. Thank you!
  7. Thank you I will check connections
  8. I do have a diesel engine, and a diesel generac 7500. I did not use engine treatment for cold weather and it's not a heated building, it gets cold here in northern Ohio. Fuel tank is 1/ 2 full. I did start chassis engine first and tried the bump button but it didn't help. The diesel fuel may have gelled in the generator?
  9. I did not replace the solenoid, but it had been starting great until I put it in storage unit. So I'm hoping it's just low batteries. Which batteries are used when starting the generator? Coach? Chassis? I am new to motorhome living.
  10. I've been starting my 2005 Damon Astoria M-3679 engine and generator monthly while in winter storage to keep batteries charged. I repalaced all batteries last spring. I plugged in to storage units outlet when put in storage Last month engine started right up, but generator would not start, tried using the bump start button that didn't work. I repalaced the generator starter last summer so I know it's not the problem. It starts to turn over then clicks. Do I need to charge coach batteries? Appreciate any advice.
  11. Yeah, there's only 1 switch. When I first looked at the rv in a storage bldg. he turned on the switch by the door and all the lights storage areas lit up.
  12. I spoke with previous owner and he said there's only 1 switch which is by the entry door. The entry switch lights up but none of the storage compartment lights come on. Still looking.
  13. I will look for another light switch. There's one at the entry and when I turn it on, no lights.
  14. Recently I was going to replace a few burned out light bulbs in the 38' Damon Astoria storage basement area. I turned on the lights but nothing happened in any of the compartments. Obviously I figured it was a breaker or fuse. With my limited experience (new 1st time motorhome owner) I looked at all the fuses and double checked the breakers and did not find any problems,. What am I missing or doing wrong? Thanks!
  15. I ended up up venting thru the air bleed on top of the 'stat housing. and added more coolant. No more alarms! 😀 Test drive on freeway and temperature remains on the cooler side of normal at75 mph and on grades. So new Cummins thermostat, clean CAC, clean radiator, no more high temperatures. Thanks everyone from rookie RVers! Quote
  16. I replaced the thermostat with Cummins part, cleaned CAC and radiator good. Started engine and immediately got stop engine light and alarm, did I trap air? I vented radiator thru upper petcock until I got coolant for a few seconds and had heater running. Noticed temperature guage did not move either.
  17. I'll remember to wash it before I put it back😁
  18. I plan to do the cleaning and change thermostat this weekend and see how it does. Is the thermostat on a 2005 300 HP Cummins diesel difficult to replace?
  19. Put toothbrush in my coach toolbag
  20. Cleaned thermocouple tip with toothbrush, fired right up using a match, thanks for the "tip".
  21. Turns out I was low on coolant. I put in 1/3rd of gallon, rv center said all they did was add 1 pint of coolant and now it works fine. Seems odd I was just 1 pint old, but hey it works fine now.
  22. tried lighting oven in motorhome, pilot won't light, worked fine 5 weeks ago.
