I hope the original poster wasn't overcome by fumes since he never came back. If he truly poured a gallon of Drano down the the drain, the stoppage must be almost at the tank. I wonder if his gray tank was full.

5 hours ago, FIVE said:I call it a "mom and pop" because it is a small independent shop that is a diesel engine rebuild facility and an authorized Allison shop.
I think thats what we all mean, usually, when we call it a mom and pop place of business.
-
I think rather than using a "mom and pop shop" tag a more appropriate tag would be an independent shop. Just my opinion.

Flights would certainly be better from Houston than Austin or even San Antonio for that matter.
-
Just as a suggestion, Gauke, I would lean more towards Austin or even further south because the temp can drop into the teens in north Texas in January. I would Google rv parks in and around Austin and start calling for information.

I have Power Gear electric jacks. I've never had problems due to temperature now moisture is a different story. If they are electric, the only thing to clean are the magnets on the edge of each leg. This is for position sensing.
-
Are they Power Gear jacks?

Appears you have a leak from a puncture, an improperly installed valve stem/extensions or the tire bead was never seated properly. Unless someone is letting air out of you tires those are the only reasons for you to have a flat(s).
I again suggest you take your motorhome to a truck tire dealer (preferably Goodyear Wingfoot dealer), have all the tires broken down and remounted. If you've done much reading regarding Camping World, they don't get many good remarks concerning their service department.

QuoteThat being said. with the way people love to jump in front of me then dive of exit. Or the one second I look out the side window to look at this beautiful country and everbody in front of me jumps on there brakes.
I think of many times I said thank god I had all the braking I could get. I am sure we all have had emergency stopping situations. There's a couple I am sure would have ended in accidents without toad having braking.
I think you answered your question about needing supplemental braking - I quoted your "that being said" term, that is normal every day driving conditions.

My suggestion is go to a tire dealer that specializes in truck tires. Apparently this Camping World doesn't know how to seat the tire bead and a lot tire of installers will not recommend the braided extensions. There are only three places a tire can leak: from a puncture, from a leaking valve stem or from a leaking tire/wheel bead.

Bill has the correct answer to resolve most issues with the T-Stats. Just remove the fuse, wait about a minute and then replace.

I just saw this today and wondering if anyone has any direct experience using it.
Thanks,

The Blue Ox website indicates very few base plates are available for 2017 models. The following is copied from their website:
If you do not see your vehicle listed on our website, please contact Blue Ox’s Fit Department by e-mail or at 800-228-9289 as your vehicle may qualify for our fit program. Eligible customer’s will receive a custom made baseplate and an Aventa LX towbar in addition to a 25% discount on all product purchased for bringing their vehicle to our factory for the fit design.

My initial thought was your trip looks like its about 6000 miles round trip which is a lot of windshield time for a three week trip. 2000 miles a week doesn't leave much time for anything other than driving. We like to drive on average of 250 mile per day and usually we don't drive more than two consecutive days. Personally, I would shorten the trip by several thousand miles and enjoy some time doing something other than driving.
Enjoy your maiden voyage wherever you choose to travel.

Maybe you have the manual but if not here is the link for it.

There may be some useful info found here also.

I hope this helps some, if not I understand their phone support is really good.

We have stayed at Walmart's, Sam's Club, Costco, Lowes, Home Depot, State Welcome Centers and truck stops over the years. Truck stops and Welcome Centers being the least preferred due to trucks coming and going all night. We always call ahead and ask permission to park in the Walmarts, etc. They will usually tell us what area to park. Like Carl said, do not put your jacks down because they can damage the paving. We do try to locate so we can extend our bedroom slide over a median or edge of the parking lot. Don't bring out barbecue pits and lawn chairs, you're not camping and don't leave your trash.
You will find lots of good information on over-nighting at this link. http://www.freecampgrounds.com/.

I can read any fault codes from the LBCU. A call to either Cummins or the Freightliner help desk and they will walk you through the steps and can tell you what the code means.

I based my Walmart suggestion on his comment "really don't want to do much other than pull over and sleep on the way".
We've stayed at Seven Points COE east of Nashville.

Shawnee to Ft Smith is 150 miles, there may be a Walmart half way if you want to stop between the two cities.

Doc Mike, most all RV's that are in storage use this kind of connection if using the built-in charger.
Where are you camping in MN? We try to spend several weeks each summer in Ely, love the Boundary Waters.

The A/C compressor can most definitely seize due to lack of use. Thats why I would never install a used compressor from a salvage yard. I cycle my A/C during the winter just for this reason.
I would change the T-Stat for the same reason, lack of use. As I recall, you have 8000 miles on a eight or possibly a nine year old motorhome. Depending on who the original delivering dealer was it could have had 1000-1500 miles on it at delivery. Less than a thousand miles a year is not enough miles to exercise the mechanical parts.
Curious, how many hours are on the genset?

My 2016 Mall Crawler is as bright as the OEM brake light. The 2005 Off road is also as bright. The only real down side is the third brake light doesn't illuminate. Herman, I tried the diodes when I towed a Malibu. I had several problems with them to point I eventually rewired to the Blue Ox 88269.
I'm proud of you Blake for picking up on the mall crawler. Even a Wrangler can be classified a mall crawler before modifications are done to turn in to a real Jeep.

I've used the Blue Ox light kit on a 2005 Jeep Wrangler, 2014 Jeep Wrangler and a 2016 Jeep Wrangler.

I've been in the same tub, Herman. Nothing like standing in an inch or so of gray tank water just as you finish a shower. Makes it hard to dry your feet while in the shower for sure.
NO, Bill. That is not the tank level indicator.
