Not interested in these but I want you to know Steve and Jon Brazel are always ready to help and they are the only ones I let work on my Holiday Rambler. They have a little camp ground there and if the shop bays are full they work out in the park, you stay for free while they repair or install anything for you.

I was set up at the fairgrounds in Richfield, WA and was connected with my new 50' cord. Darned if someone didn't run over the plug and mash it into the ground. Then darned if it didn't rain and the tire track filled with water causing a bad short. Anyone want to buy a long piece of rubber with some burned wires ??

Nasty Problem/ Flush King I have a Flush King to use when I drain my tanks-would not leave home without it. It's like me, it has a small leak around the edge, I assume from the gasket getting old, I would like to repair and replace the gasket before it really becomes a problem. I have googled every combination of words trying to finds a source for the gasket. Can anyone help with a source ???? __________________

Are we talking about another 50 amp power cord to extend the reach (three spade prongs, one end male and one female ), or heavy guage extention cords with the two spade prongs and a ground ????

Thanks for the suggestions but HOW COMMON ARE THESE PROBLEMS ??????? I've only been out here FTing for 8 months and as far as I can tell and from every one at the various parks I have talked to, no one has had any problems. I would hate to go spending $$$$$$, I know it's insurance, but it seems like taking an asprin so you won't get a headache.

RED FLAG !!! going south on 101 you will find a section around mile marker 71 that washed out last summer, and the summer before that, has been some what repaired with loose gravel-this year it took 16 trucks full of gravel and rock to fill the hole-it still is not paved and they have a speed limit of 25 mph through the area. plus the road narrows a great deal. I have 40 foot and would be hard pressed to go through the area. on the canyon side it slants to the right and drops. Other than that it is a slow wonderful trip I make quite often

We set up a program at our RV park to recycle and give it to the Boy Scouts, it became their responsibility to visit the park once a week and sort and bag the donations, they were to use the money to send a couple of kids to camp. This lasted about two weeks, someone broke into the sheds and stole everything, which they promptly threw it all over the park. Taged the sheds and half the buildings. The scouts spent an entire weekend trying to help get it back together, two weeks later whoever they were, burned the sheds to the ground. Everything goes to the landfill now, mind there are only 524 people in the town.

The other day we visited some friends at a private gated RV club park, looked good for a home base in Washington State. It was kind of woodsey and my DW's allergies went nuts but we can adjust our travel for that. Do any of you know of "Private Camping Clubs" ie Membership camping ? I don't mean Good Sam or a short term stop over-already belong to three of them. Seems all I have found are on indian land which is OK, but last week we were ready to write a check ($2,500) but found out the lease with the tribe was only good for 3 more years, at which time all contracts were cancelled and you had 15 days to vacate the land.

I have a 40-foot Holiday Rambler diesel pusher. I bought one of the little yellow power post testers that shows if it's safe to use. My question is: If I plug into the 120 plug and the lights show OK, does that mean the 30-amp and 50-amp are safe, or just the 120-volt ? I have a pigtail that I can use to check the wiring through the 30-amp plug, but what about the 50-amp? I've never had a problem, but I pretty much stay at well-maintained parks because my wife uses a walker and can't deal with uneven ground.

We are going to Port Susan Camping Club north of Everet, WA. this weekend to look over buying a membership. Have any of you been there or done that ? The land is leased from an Indian tribe and you can only stay on a site for 180 days then you have to remove yourself, quite a few of the residences buy two lots next to each other and just move from one lot to the other for the next 180 days, or they travel that time until they are allowed back. The land is leased, not purchased, and there are some that look great and some look like a parking space so we are going up to see whats what. If you have had an encounter with this type of deal, jump on and give me your feed back.

Heres your chance to share your knowledge. I am planning a Class A Diesel trip to Alaska in the summer of 2014. I live full time in a 40 foot Class A Pusher, at this time I am not planing on towing my car but that might change. We are in the northwest south of Seattle, WA. I have heard about putting the rig on a barge to Alaska and driving from the coast, need someone that has done this in the recent past, to chime in and let me know about costs and time. (Don't care about your trip 10 years ago.) Where did you get on the barge and how much will it cost ? Or should we just drive ?????? Larry & Rita

OK, I need Help. I never realized how big the Internet is. I saw a post, blog or site about handicap traveling. The one I saw, if I remember correctly, was a blog that was written by two ladies who claim they had been to 49 states. They listed the ADA availability for all of the sites they had been to. They had developed a map of the USA that you could highlight and it would show all the sites they had been to and how easy it was for them to navigate the area. The map was yellow and the site or blog was very well made. I have a number of handicaps that would benefit.

Larry196 replied to greybeard101's topic in Type A motorhomes
I have a 2006 HR and I agree with wigginsjsr, my house unit only works with the DVD and when my granddaughter stayed with us she got a Star Wars movie, when the battle began it scared the wife so bad she almost peed he pants,(that's her description). It will not work with the TV and has a built in FM radio receiver. -
I have been all morning trying to locate a source for the little black plugs that are suppose to be in the Drain holes, common name I guess is Weep Hole Covers. They are at the bottom of the double paned windows and are to let the condensation flow outside. Seems after a brief inventory, we are missing about 10 of them, and as I was washing the rig, the water was going inside. Any ideas ? 2006 Holiday Rambler

We have been looking in every corner of every store we come across in Washington and Oregon for the Calgon Water softner, so we could start the GEO cleaning method. Today on another site I read that Calgon Softner has been banned in Wash. & Ore. due to a phosphate . Any one have any other tried and true ideas ?????? __________________

Well now we have moved to Neskowin, OR and see darned few FMCA Plates (Goose Eggs). I approched one rig showing the sign and was greeted with a couple of snarling big dogs and the old grouch inside was rude and said the plate did not belong to him but was on the coach when he bought it 5 years ago, just never got around to taking the darned thing off, said I was the first to ask. Did not find any others. Oh Well, Happy New Years Larry

I awoke this morning and when I pull the shades on the front of the coach, it was so bright I thought the end was here afterall--Turned out to be the sun--haven't seen the sun in Washington state in a long time. We are at Neskowin RV Resort, just east of Lincoln City, Oregon and have rain, snow, sleat and very strong winds for a month at least, it was great to see blue skys, now if the puddles (No Lakes) would subside we can open the door and go outside. We are in space 51 if there are any other FMCA people in the park. Merry Christmas to all Larry & Rita

12/12 Update: The gentleman I originally spoke of went on to take off all 6 tires and polished the rims then cleaned and greased the axles and undercarrige. Last I saw him he was just fine and going to play pool. If it had been me I would have had pnumonia. OLD PEOPLE RULE

2006 Holiday Rambler-40 foot We have been in Washington State for the last 3 months and have been rained on everyday. We developed a leak at what seems to be the front edge of the slides, I read that if we raised the front jack a little bit it would stop--it did on the curbside, still leaking on the road side, the whole drivers area is wet. Not being able to access the roof because of the rain I could not check up there. We had a carpet shampooer and used it about every hour to try and get up as much water as we could. The rig has been in the body shop closed up for two weeks. Question is: Do you think I need to replace the carpet ? If so How much should it cost ?

I know the warm up part, but the light scared the H out of me and I shut down. Thanks Brett for the reminder Larry

2006 Holiday Rambler, 40 foot Diesel. I started the engine yesterday and I had a red light on the dash that said "ALT. CHARGE". I don't like red lights. Started fine and ran like normal, what should I be worried about? I did notice the charge gauge seemed to stay around 14. We have been sitting for two months.
