  1. I have the Viair and like it. The only drawback is it is still slow. I think if you could rig up a small tank it would help. I use it on the toad and to top off on the coach. I found out how slow it was trying to pump up someone else's  Big RV tire. I also have a  pancake compressor now.

😃I have a 2021 Tiffin Open Road.  I have been towing a 2018 Equinox with no issues (3300 lbs) . I am considering trading for a larger vehicle.   If I tow a Traverse or a Acadia how badly will I notice the 1000 lb heavier vehicle ? My coach has the 7.3 V-8.  GM is quiet about the curb weight of the Acadia and Traverse but I believe it is 4200-4500 lbs.  Towing for this coach is 5000 lbs.

Yes you may notice the added weight but I don't think it will be that bad.

The real limiting factor on a lot of the coaches based on the Ford chassis or any of the outher ones out there is the welded on extensions to the frame. The extra length  addes leverage to the weight/stresses on the frame.

Let us know what you think after you get it.

  3. What I found in the FMCA Towing Guide.  https://www.fmca.com/images/stories/pdf/towing_10.pdf

Automatic transmission: With dealer-installed Neutral Tow Kit (part
#3L2Z-7H332-AA). Manual transmission (both 4x2 and 4x4): Vehicle must
be shifted into “neutral” and the maximum towing speed is 55 mph.

I would be looking for something I could tow a little faster. I don't know how much you could push it but I tend to run about 65.

  4. Yes the Midway is a great ship and thank you for your service.

Something else you should look at  Passport America. It is a program for campgrounds to fill slow times and attract visitors  . You can save 50% on the regular nightly rate.

If you have a 3 jack system, make sure the front jack has raised your MH slightly before deploying the rear jacks. This help to keep the frame from twisting, and damaging your windshields and front cap.

    Like Richard said.

This is a good process even with 4 jacks. The front 2 are connected so they equalize and stay fairly level. This takes the twisting stress off the body.

Hi Bill, Thank you for the reply, I havent joined up with any chapter yet but I did recieve a few emails when I first joined from some Florida chapters that mostly travel around Florida.  My wife and I are interested in visiting some of the  National Parks, Yuma AZ, Lake Havasue City AZ, San Diego CA ( USS Midway CV41)( I served on her during Vietnam War) and last but not least Visit the Pacif Coast Highway. God willing we will have some good years ahead of us to travel after working for 50 years and meet alot of great people along the way.

Sounds like fun. Do you have your Senior Passes? A lifetime pass only cost $80.00. https://store.usgs.gov/lifetime-senior-pass. It covers everyone in your car. Use the NPS web site to plan your trips to parks. https://www.nps.gov/index.htm. They have apps for your phone. You can check any restrictions on entering the parks and check weather conditions.

Yes I know The USS Midway CV41. We got a tour last year when we went to a AIM rally in San Diego. Higley recommend going to the San Diego Zoo for a visit.

One more thought. The National Parks Passport program is a great way to track your adventures as you explore the over 400 units of the National Park Service. Purchase your passport book at the first park visitor center or https://americasnationalparks.org/passport-to-your-national-parks/

  7. With the market the way it is,  it is interesting that Grand Design RV (of the 5th wheel world) will start building motorhomes. Winnebago must think there is a market. Wouldn’t it be a great opportunity to make a quality coach with no problems, no punch list of problems on delivery.

The outher interesting thing is the Camping World stores that will look like a  Grand Design store not a Camping World store.
