  1. A friend of mine gave us 2 electric sun shades for the front windshield. They have 2 wires and when hooked up one way, with the hot and ground, they go down, reverse the wires and they roll up. My question is how do I use 1 switch for each side to roll up and down as they are designed. I know this is a stupid question but I am confused which way to correctly wire them to work. Any help would be appreciated Michael
  2. Check that the relay switch on the inverter hasn't tripped , usually there are 2 rocker switches on the inverter and if 1 trips then you will lose power to the side it controls Regards, Michael
  3. Last year we were invited to an FMCA chapter rally by a good friend, whom I went to school with. The rally was held by the Red River Rovers. We had belonged to them in '01 when they first started the chapter but dropped out because both my wife and I were working and found we didn't have enough time in the week, as it was. We (my wife) decided that she missed the company of the R R R members who welcomed us back as though we had never left. Needless to say, we rejoined the Rovers, and since we are now retired, we are able to go to the rallies and just take our time to relax and enjoy the scenery. One requirement to the club and all chapters is you must be a current member in FMCA. We paid the fee and have enjoyed the times spent with all our old friends. I am a Lifetime member in Good Sam as well as the Presidents Club of Camping World and I receive the same camping discounts offered by all three. What I guess I'm trying to say is, without the friends we have met since rejoining FMCA we would still be a Lone Wolf in RVing and wouldn't have the fun we have enjoyed because of FMCA. To us the cost is worth it. If you haven't joined a chapter, at least give one a try. If they are like the Red River Rovers you'll find something worth the dues and have fun at the same time. Regards, Michael
  4. I took the coach to Slade Mobil RV Repair in Garland TX and when they tested the voltage output on the Gen they discovered the gen output was 130 volts and running full load. He adjusted the voltage back to 119 no load and increased to normal under load. I also learned that the inverter switch was not on. I didn't know that you had to manually turn the switch on for it to work, a good lesson for me to learn the hard way. Thanks to everyone who responded and gave suggestions.
  5. I have the Genrac 5 K Gen and for what ever reason the Inverter doesn't power up unless the Gen is running. It is a 1.5Kw inverter with 4- 6volt batt on the system. This system and batt are new and never powered the TV or any thing AC powered since I've owned the ( Safari Zanzabar). Maybe I'm misunderstanding the system, the capabilities and what everything does. I appreciate the replies and any suggestions you have . The tank was filled before I went to the track. Regards,
  6. While dry camping at the spring nationals dirt track race held at TMS last weekend I used 26 gal. of lp fuel and wasn't using the AC's. We were just watching TV and the furnace so there was a min load on the gen. Is there any thing that I can do to improve the LP amount used per hour as we only ran it for about 24 hours which amounts to a little over 1 gal per hour. I have the same problem with running a full load (Both AC's ect) Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Michael
  7. After trying for 3 days to get my picture to upload I finally found out that by going in to Windows editor and compressing the picture from 260 MB to 29 KB the site would let me load the image. And no I didn't break the camera when they took the picture (almost though) If you have any questions let me know Regards Michael
  8. We are going to the Spring National dirt car races at TMS next weekend and the temp is supposed around 38 degrees. I haven't dry camped before and am worried if my 99 Safari Zanzabar house batteries will carry the load overnight to run the furnace. Or should I just run the generator which is Propane and use the electric heaters that I have . The batteries are 4- 6 volt deep cycle and are fairly new with a full charge. Help Regards, Michael Hillhouse
  9. When both I and the tech tested the circuit we found that the voltage through the sensor was 10.9 volts where the circuit was 13.2 volts of power available to the sensor . Both failures were the same on the sensors. I feel that Norcold has a problem and doesn't admit it and we, the consumer, have to pay for their faulty boards to be tested each time to have them checked out. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to be able to read voltage available to the main boards on the refrigerators but Norcold treats us like some kind of a child and insists we have their techs do the same procedures to get the same results. This probably makes me seem like a frustrated old fart which I am but I just want to be able to enjoy my coach and not have the problems which causes the refer's to not work properly. Is their something I'm missing if so let me know ? Regards, Mike P.S Happy New Year to all
  10. So far I've had two sensors replaced on my 1200 and Norcold swears that there is no problem with their sensors. I also found that when plugged in direct voltage past the sensor the ref works fine. To replace or not to, is the million dollar question. Do I continue to have problems or just take a chance on a so called fire and wire direct
