  1. Carl, . Her Prevost will be so old build quality will be superior coupled with that old two stroke Detroit.
  2. Ok so one story. Funny none the less. we were on the road for two days with our last coach 31'class c, long time ago. DW finds a place off of I-95 to stop for the night. I ask here to check the web and tell me what she sees. No website could be found...hmmm. Called no answering machine. We pull up 1/2 hour later it looked like a place from the movie Friday the 13th, should have been our second clue. I was tired so for $10.00 full hook ups we put the money in the envelope none of my info was required, which I thought was strange. I squeeze in, couldn't figure out the site layouts to save my life, all covered in leaves so I see a tower I pull over to it (it's summer and this place is almost empty, clue 3) no lights could hardly see. All I could see was a few abandoned trailers or at least they looked like they were as my headlights cast upon them when I was driving around. I pull up to a tower hop out test it, plug in, connect the sewer hose, empty, something is hitting me on the head, I shine the flashlight up creepy trees covering the top of the coach, (no idea what was hitting me on the head) I drop the flashlight and there are red ants everywhere I ran over a very large hill and they are climbing up the coach. I pull the power, and sewer hose, hop in the drivers seat, throw the coach in drive, entrance marked one way the exit had branches across it and I'm not sure how I got in that place the first time, here comes this person from a trailer that was missing a door, I'm out of here!!!! I could see the highway through the brush, ( I almost drove through them since the entrance was partially grown over) so... we'll here goes hold on....I floor it through the bushes onto the highway hooked a right and down the road I went. Down the road to a car wash I remembered passing just down the street (maybe a mile) when I arrive I wash and put my hose and plug away (yea they were dragging along side of me. Hose off the coach and spent the night at a rest stop off of 95. Boy I miss that flashlight and the bush kicked out from under the coach a few feet from the CG. Just in case you were wondering. Every time we drive down 95 we laugh. Still can't figure out where that place is not that I want to go back. moral of the story, there are some real shady places out there.
  3. RodgerS, thank you for posting this. It was about as accurate as we see it oh so often while traveling. I could stand up on a soap box and type for hours about the stuff we have encountered in ONLY 8 years of doing this part time. I will say this....if you own a campground or know someone that does, pass this on.... if they do not have a website or a decent website with site photos I will not go there unless a friend recommended it. I have gotten burned too many times. Funny I have family that owns a campground, never been there and was offered a free site when ever we want to go....still haven't been there. No website not sure if I can even get into their CG let alone squeeze into a site, plus they have a few permanent sites which we avoid at most if not all the time. We stayed down the street and didn't say a word .
  4. Steve, I had to unbolt mine unhook the water supply line and flip it over to get the model and serial. When you flip it over there was only a water connection to the toilet bowl jets and the wires. Mostly everything comes as one unit already assembled. If memory serves me right it was 6 Philips screws and it was all apart. The, motor, valve is all one piece very simple to change.
  5. 2brew, I did that with my headlights and front parking lights. My tail lights are 1992/1996 ford econoline and headlights are 1997-2006 Ford Econoline if you zoom in these are dark perimeter with clear lenses rather than the original. Theses also have Led halos on the bottom of the headlight
  6. Blake, we use KOA also. I tend to go where I get discounts if just passing through. I will be down there in August.
  7. Iwpavo, I tried the sylvania also, since they wouldn't produce as much as the incandescent bulbs I returned them. I didn't want to risk another motorist hitting me from dim lights. Happy now with the ones I bought. With stuff like this I have found if you spen a little more up front one time you will never touch it again. I bought some cheap LEDs and they didn't last.
  8. Yea, she's an organization fanatic and we both love cleanliness. That was taken while parked for the season.
  9. When you push the flush button it the motor sounds like its struggling and the flap opens slow. Oddly its intermittent.
  10. 2brew, because it's not a CDL I was told you do not need a licensed driver to go with you. I got that from the lead CDL test administrator at the Reading PA location. they will ask you to perform a full air brake test and Pre-trip just as its outlined in the CDL manual. While driving make certain to observe the bridge weight and height postings, after you cross they will ask you what the sign behind you read. If you can handle the coach on the road and pass the stuff above you should be good. They were more relaxed with a non-CDL than the regular CDL.
  11. When mine goes again I will replace it with a foot pedal. I'm not a fan of the electric flush. Hopefully they make toilet with the same foot print with a pedal. It recently has begun to sound like its straining when you push the button.
  12. Hmm, mine chirps and rattles on occasion while driving, sounds like dry rubber chirp. I have found some chafe points on the screen door. One of those things I have to dig into a bit more. Are all of these doors this heavy? It's like closing a bank vault.
  13. Ross, that's beautiful! Love it
  14. Tim, glad to hear, small world! Joe is a great guy, very knowledgeable. I love mine also, my turn signals are like little yellow headlights now.
  15. sdahmer, Welcome to the FMCA Forum. I'm betting on a Thetford Aria. If so I rebuilt ours in 2014, very simple unit. Parts were a bit pricey.
  16. Ugg, well glad you found it, sorry to hear that. Where was the harness located?
  17. Five, thank you for the recommendations. My weight rating is 23,000, most states do not allow that much on an axle although times are changing. I have always spec'd trucks with a 23,000 rear but we registered them lower, they held up better under abusive situations.
  18. http://www.cabinbright.com/ I do not work for this company, many have asked me this in the past. The owner is a retired electronic engineer and a fellow RV'r (that goes a long way with me) and a nice guy to sit and chat with at RV shows. He gave me great pricing since I was flipping my entire coach in and out to LED (I had a mess of fluorescent light problems inside, most didn't work for one reason or another so it was time to act). I installed a few of his product's in our last coach and they held up great. His interior lamps are dimmable which was great for my spot lamp pods inside, most are not. Interior light photos of my project are here in the gallery
  19. I replaced my exterior turn and stop lamps with LED. Every year at the Hershey show I would ask the owner of Cabin Bright when they were going to be available. They finally have them now bright enough with the LED's pointing in the proper directions to utilize the lens reflectors you have in your existing lights. He explained to me he wasn't going to put a product out unless it out performed the incandescent light. I also didn't need to change my flasher, not sure why. I did find I have a few weak grounds within a few sockets, simple enough to replace. I bought them and I am impressed and happy with the end result. All of my exterior with the exception of side, rear dock lights and my headlights are LED and are very bright.
