zeboray Report post Posted April 2, 2019 Any suggestions every 250-300 miles?
wolfe10 Report post Posted April 2, 2019 One question first: How much of a hurry are you in. Indeed if trying to make time, I 10 is the way to go. But, when we are headed west and have time, we much prefer U.S. 90 from San Antonio to Van Horn. Much more to see. Good 2 land road all the way with very little traffic. zeboray Report post Posted April 2, 2019 I-10 for me (I don't like two lane roads). May go from So Padre Island to Loredo to Kerville to Ft. Stockton to El Paso. Don't know what else to do. I've always joked that once you get on I-10 in TX if feels as if you'll never get out! Thanks Wolfe
manholt Report post Posted April 2, 2019 I-10 is boring! It also is 2 lanes for 80% of journey...I stay in Ft. Stockton, old KOA, right off I-10, 6 miles East of town...then KOA in Van Horn! I'm like Brett, love Hwy. 90!
rfsod48 Report post Posted April 2, 2019 We have always used the Mountian View RV park in Vanhorn. It is a wide open park with great views.
wayne77590 Report post Posted April 2, 2019 If we have to go I-10 we always try and make it to Kerrville, TX, then it is 250 or so miles to Fort Stockton (old KOA) and then to Las Cruces about 285 miles. Fort Stockton to El Paso if you really have to stop there is 240 or so miles. Very boring ride.
