rossboyer Report post Posted August 23, 2022 Don’t have enough information about the make and model of your water heater, but check to see if 120 volts between the terminals on the heating element. rayin Report post Posted August 23, 2022 I'll bet money the 120VAC heater element is failed. This is nothing special to RV's, the difference is mounting, screw-in or bolt-in, and total length. Any hardware store carries them. You will need the huge hex socket for the screw-in, which again is the same as a residential water heater. If your water heater has the depth to accommodate the long style, it is a slightly higher wattage than the short style. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

dons2346 Report post Posted April 26, 2023 Turn the breaker off. Remove connections at the element. Using an ohm meter, measure the resistance of the element. If you read zero, the element is open meaning it is shot. For a 1400 watt element, you should see 10 ohms or a little more Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
