Anyone Knows Of Beach Front, Texas Gulf Shores Campground?

Planning on visiting the South Texas area, mainly the Gulf shores during late summer (August ).

Any suggestions on a campground with electrical and water hook-up, beach-side?

Check out Rockport, TX I know they have some that are across the street from the Gulf.

Good suggestion. We are in Rockport now...there are CGs all over the place. There is very little "beach'' here.

Go over to Port Aransas/Aransas Pass. You will need to take the Ferry but there are Parks there and a lot of beaches. Sorry about Rockport, lots of parks very little beach.

Try this:

in your search engine, google, type in Galveston, TX. A map will appear. Click on the map. Then in the Google search pane "of the map" type in RV Parks. The map will be populated with RV Parks. You can zoom in to see if any meet your criteria. Move the mape on down the coast and just hit the little blue search icon in the search pane and the map will be repopulated with RV parks. There are many, many RV parks along the Gulf Coast of Texas. Just in Galveston alone there are 5 parks, and 3 before you get into Galveston. Corpus Christi area has close to a dozen, and Mustang Island has two "upscale" parks. When you see one that looks interesting go to rvparkreviews.com and check on the rv park. To many to list.

Also look at Crystal Beach on the Bolivar Penisula, East of Galveston on Texas SW 87. I was just there this past Friday. There are several RV campgrounds with beaches just across the highway.

Mustang Island has several RV parks with walking access to a beautiful beach. By walking I mean via a 100 yd boardwalk over the dune. Try Pioneer Beach Resort; we have stayed there several times. Good park. Of course, it will be hot in August, but wasn't that why you were going to the beach? If you go to Mustang Island via Corpus Christi, you do not need to use a ferry.

Recommend Gulf Waters RV Resort south of Port Aransas. Ask for site by the boardwalk to the beach.

Also, you can drive most any tow vehicle on the beach from the town of Port A south. Great fun. August will not be too hot with the Gulf breezes and the cooling of the ocean effect.

http://www.gulfwatersrvresorttx.com/ is the place. It is close to the beach and is cheaper toward the front of the park. Been there several times in Jan and Feb. my husband loves to walk on the beach and this is the place.

And then there is South Padre Island. A little further south, but the beaches are easily accessible from Isla Blanca County Park. There are full hookup sites and the beach is a five minute walk from most any of them. South Padre Island has miles of excellent beach and palm trees as well. There is also a KOA Kampground which is just a little further from the beach. Both are near the town of South Padre Island and there are many recreational, dining and deep sea fishing opportunities as well as the beach.
