2013 Bounder 35K V-10

Recommended Posts

Good morning, we have recently purchased a 2013 Bounder 35K and are planing a trip cross country from north Florida to Las Vegas and returning through Denver Co.

Can someone give me input on what to expect from the V-10 traveling through the mountains not towing a vehicle.

Thanks for you reply.

Just like driving your car. Have a great trip! OK, maybe you go up the hill a little slower but you are not in a hurry anyway, right?

Florida Room 5,

Welcome to the FMCA forum!

Besides going a little slower up the steeper grads. You will be driving a high profile vehicle so it will handle differently in cross winds. Slow down and learn how the coach drives. As you become familiar with how wind affects the way it handles it will be less stressful. It will take some time if you have never driven a larger truck or delivery van.

Rich.

And, on down grades, use the transmission (down shift) to control speed. Use brake pedal ONLY to slow down enough to allow shifting to a lower gear.

Correct speed on a descent is that speed/gear that holds your speed in EQUILIBRIUM-- you are neither speeding up nor slowing down. physics dictates your equilibrium speed is faster than a loaded 18 wheeler, slower than an empty one.

When climbing the mountains be prepared for the V10 to be screaming at high RPM...won't hurt it...just loud.

Why not take a vehicle you will be able to see many more out of the way places that would be hard to maneuver the motorhome.

You won't know it's back there. The new V10s are great motors.
