0 obedb Report post Posted February 28, 2016 There are commuter trains entering Chicago from the south, the NW and the north. Do a search in those areas. Left Chicago many years ago, but I am sure those commuter services still exist.
0 manholt Report post Posted March 3, 2016 All you got to do is Google the area you want to camp in and pick the one that suites your need! Same with public transportation.
0 mable Report post Posted March 3, 2016 Hi...If you happen to be retired military or otherwise qualified, Great Lake Navy Station has beautiful right on the beach just north of Chicago with excellent train transportation. West of Chicago in North Elgin is a county forest preserve (Paul Wolfe campground) A beautiful place and safe to return to after a day of sightseeing. Excellent FRY and train connections. 0 jlandon13399 Report post Posted March 4, 2016 If you do not mind dry camping you can stay at the McCormick Place Marshalling Yard. It has a security gate and is right in the heart of downtown.
