EdwinDHershey Report post Posted May 16, 2016 KOA Association Island near Watertown NY. Great sun sets. Sites are gravel and level. Right on Lake Ontario.
aztec7fan Report post Posted May 17, 2016 Try RVParkreviews.com, looks like they have several campgrounds listed in the Clayton area (which is near 1000 Islands). Several have good reviews and are big-rig friendly: http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/new-york/clayton
hobart Report post Posted May 17, 2016 There are many good campgrounds in the area. A good place to look is the campground owners of New York [cony] site, there is a section for the 1000 island / St Lawrence area. The state parks are OK but many sites are small for the length. Make your reservations as early as you can as the area is busy for the summer season and sites book fast.
obedb Report post Posted May 19, 2016 It is a beautiful place to vacation in the NE. We had pretty much given up on this part of the country until we discovered Alexandria Bay when we rented a cabin in the early 80's. Goose Bay I think. We were there three times with our 34' footer, and enjoyed all. We stayed at state parks with water and electric and the bigger park west of 81 had some full hooks . They do have rules but my memory says that a 39 footer would probably fit if they let you in. You will need written proof of Rabies Vaccinations for your dogs to get in. We vacationed in September. No kids. Not as crowded.
