I lined mine with that very thin indoor/ outdoor carpet you can get at Costco, Home Depot, or Lowe's. Super easy to cut and stays in place and looks nice

I'm very happy to be driving a large diesel pusher coach over a gas rig l call that spending the children's inheritance!!! The costs can be spendy for operating and maintaining it but you only live once, l hope someday to buy an older prevost then my costs will be even higher but they look so cool. All that matters is you have fun in whatever rv you can afford.

Who, What, When, Where or Just Lets Talk

That was very entertaining video to watch, l was only 6 then and we went camping in the heavy canvas tent, what a back breaker that must have been for my Dad to put up but good times then, now its glamping for us !!! -
I wish l could find a good person like Erniee out in San Diego area to do flooring, one company said all 4 slides need to come out, some don't call back, one came out and never called back with a bid, crazy ??? I know it's a lot of labor to do these, I'm ok with doing the tear out of old carpet and leaving the existing ceramic tile which looks fine. Any suggestions greatly appreciated

I bought it new back in 2016 in San Diego but l don't think they make them anymore except for other types of trailers, no the platform is not lockable but is a tilt bed. I did learn to start looking at tire codes finding out that a 2016 tow dolly had 2012 tires on it, but at least they weren't expensive to replaced unlike my motorhome will be when that day comes. Great chatting with you Bill and others on the Forums Mark

It's a Carson tow dolly with swivel platform, it has a flat smooth plate the tires sit in so even with the chains and straps it moves some with our Toyota Corolla. It has a low front end on the car so l have to put a 2 x 12 on the ramp to clear the front end when it goes in the saddle so by using the bricks it makes the car come off easier otherwise l wouldn't use them. I do check the straps several times to make sure they are tight when traveling.

I bought one of those parabolic radiant heaters at Harbor Freight last year and it does a great job at 400/900 watts plus l found a 250 watt electrical one l put on the counter in the back bedroom from Walmart both are quiet. Good luck
-
That's a good point about the exhaust temperature gauge, mine doesn't have one that tells you what but l will have to check into what's involved in installation of one, what are the temperature recommendations range for most ?

Yes l do downshift as needed to not lug the engine and improve coolant flow. I also talked to someone while camping in St. George Utah and they leave their rear engine access doors or louvered panel open going down the road he said it let's more heat out but l don't know if l will try that or not.

I was recently talking to a couple of diesel mechanics regarding overheating which l have on my ISL 400 2005 now the CAC, radiator, and air conditioning condenser are all cleaned l also put a 1" spacer to allow more air flow. They said to turn on the heater so the coolant can flow through the hoses and heater core to absorb more heat and it made a big difference so far on my rig

I recently watched a YouTube video from the wrap artist and was very interesting, you could contact them and they can hook you up with someone near you as stated on the video. Wrapartist.com in Tennessee phone number 615 802 9727 good luck

Thanks, l will have to pick up a bottle or two. Friend of mine who has the same motorhome put a spray mister on his but I'm not interested in doing that, l thought about putting an electric fan on the condenser side and blow air through the stack in addition to the hydraulic fan on the other side.
-
Will be checking that good point

The model is a Mandalay model E 2005 l would think the dealer used the correct mixture of coolant almost 9 gallons it holds. I do keep the rpms at 2000 to keep it flowing while downshifting while climbing
-
Even after it was replaced it still did but it took it a lot longer to heat up but l heard that they didn't put a large enough radiator in these, whether that is true or not who knows from that rumor. I appreciate everyone's tips for me to check out.

Thanks for that tip Bill on the type.

I don't know any of the history on this rig since we bought it so l I'm not sure of its service history, l assume it being a 2005 it would use standard transmission oil but maybe it's that transyn type not sure but the Cummins dealer said it would take 2 trans oil changes if he goes with the transyn type is that a correct assumption ? Seems that if it had proper service on it the oil would be ok but it's a 15 year old rig so maybe not so just change it when we get back
-
All good points for me to check into more when we get back home. The coach only has 36,000 miles, l had the coolant changed recently, when we bought the rig 3 years ago l discovered it had a bad ECM module which was replaced and flashed by Cummins it wouldn't tell the hydraulic pump fan to speed up or slow down so it ran on slow speed, I will have to get under the rig and do some searching.

I do believe that they undersized the radiator in these rigs, another friend has the same type but a 2006 model with twice the miles mine has on it. They are both side radiators also, it's fine till you start climbing, yes the outside temperatures are in the 90s too which doesn't help, l had gasser motorhomes pass me on the Baker grade heading to Las Vegas l do keep the rpms at 2000 to help, only towing a small car with us. That's why l thought if a trans cooler would help pull some heat out because of the undersized radiator. Thanks for all your help and suggestions
