I've read your post 7 times over the past two days and I'm still not sure what you're trying to do. What part does the PI have to do with using your house batteries to power the trailer. My house batteries are wired to my inverter and my portable PI is only used when I connect it to the park pedestal and then connect my 50amp cord to the PI. What am I missing?

Are you sure its not part of the inverter?

High humidity: If the detector is located in a bathroom or near a bathroom, high humidity from steam can trigger it.

As you are aware, the weather is going to be a huge factor for this trip and you are covering lots and lots of miles in 8 weeks. Many campgrounds and parks will be closed for the season so planning is going to be very important. We are traveling in southern Utah and some parks began closing today, Oct 1. Plan on boondocking occasionally until you get to the southern part of the country. Check which if any states will require chains for your coach. I assume you will be towing a toad. Good luck.
