  1. Thanks for the link Bill, some great information here including the website by John Mayer for Communication on the road. Heres a quick link to his site for anyone interested. Comunication on the Road
  2. Great History with this Coach. I'm sure you came across this site but if not click on link below, lots of good information which may help in ordering specific Shocks or Sway Bar (2-items that specifically enhance drivability). I'm not an expert with FMC, hopefully someone else has had experience with them to give you some idea's. Link to FMC Motorcoach
  3. Wow, I test drove an Allegro Bus at an FMCA Convention in 2010 and felt the same wandering. Tiffin makes a great product and the gentleman who owns them, Bob, has a great reputation. I talked to numerous RVers before we settled on our newer coach, and Tiffin owners have lots of good things to say. Call the factory and discuss your concerns. They are the experts.
  4. Two things I would look into: 1. Tracker Bar on the front steering suspension may need to be tightned or replaced. It's difficult to determine and would suggest you have a reputable repair shop determine. 2. It could very well be the drive shaft "U-Joints". I had this issue on a previous Coach, vibration is felt all the way to the front seat. My so called reputable repair shop said all was good. Well, U-Joint exploded and lots of damage including a hole in my Allison transmission. Not a good trip.
  5. I spoke with Previous Country Coach Technicians and they do not have a limiting feature on their chassis. It is a common failure which happens on Country Coach. I talked with Road Master (Bill), he stated in a nut shell the Road King Shock is much stronger than other manufactures. The dampening force of 4800 lbs will certainly limit the travel a shock might have, but would may not limit an over extension. He did say most likely their shocks would eliminate the problem because of the force the shock will handle on compression and extension, where other shocks may travel 6 inches theirs may only travel 2 - 3 inches, essentially eliminating an over extension. Country Coach does not have a limiting feature on the chassis to compensate over extension.
  6. Another thread with lots of posts on this subject: RV Slide
  7. Just too easy to post it. "Lake Havasu, Arizona" Holly shiii| that would be hot. Just kidding. I just had to chime in.
  8. Well it's nice to hear it worked out, thanks for the update
  9. Possible option for 49.99 at the Napa Auto Parts Store. Link to alternate motor replacement
  10. Great post thanks for the tip, by the way I didn't see any mis-spelled words. For your info there is an ABC spell check button for your use next time. Button located to the right says ABC
  11. I would suggest you list your RV and sell yourself, this takes the trade out of the equation and makes a clean negotiation whether it be a dealer or private party. Check your state's position on sales tax, some have exemptions if you buy from a private party saving you thousands. We sold ours using rvtrader.com in two weeks, do your research on the values of new or used coach's and list at or below to sell yours reasonably quick. Make sure to be absolutely honest with buyers and post pictures, be prepared to send more pictures if they ask and last but not least the most interested buyers will call you on the phone.
  12. I have taken this coach to a reputible Country Coach Repair Facility in Oregon, very confident they are experts with Country Coach in fact several employees are Ex-employees of Country Coach. See explanation below from them; They are broken from over extension which is common on Country Coaches. The ride height is correct and is not the problem. I have no motive to sell Road Kings for any other reason than I know they perform and are guaranteed for the life of the coach. I have a lot of customers who are very happy that I made this recommendation to them when they had similar problems your coach is having. So for the record, why did the shock break? Was the ride height adjusted properly? Yes, the ride height is correct. Did the shock pull apart? Yes, the driver side pulled completely apart and the driver side just broke but didn’t separate. Did the shock crush on compression? No, it was from over extending. Common problem with these shocks on Country Coaches.
  13. Some states have an exemption from sales tax, if you buy from a private party.
  14. Just purchased a Country Coach Magna, after review I have two broken shocks on the rear. I have been told by the dealer Road King is a superior replacement to the existing Koni. Apparently Koni is slightly under rated for this coach as they have had some trouble. Has anyone had positive experience with Road King Shocks?
  15. My sister-in-law is a district manager for Starbucks, she says some of their stores sell this small machine, it's called "Aroma Expresso Machine" and retails for $269.99, again she says it works really well. You can order online here also. Starbucks On-line Store
  16. Looking to purchase 2010 American Coach Herritage. How well does American Coach take care of Warranty issues? Is there any warranty repair locations for them on the West Coast? I have an issue with the Kitchen slide having 12 inches of carpet below the sink area to accommodate the full slide. Has anyone purchased one and come up with a solution, carpet under the sink and cooktop just doesn't make sense. Looking for solution to protect carpet below sink? (Not just a throw rug)
  17. "Norco 72090" makes a max 22 ton air jack which would work fine. http://www.hyjacks.com/airhyd.htm Torque depends on lug size and needs to be verified, generally 20-mm 8-10 lugnut wheels: 280 - 310 ft-lbs 1 3/16" Socket 22-mm 8-10 lugnut wheels: 450 - 500 ft-lbs 1 5/16" Socket Remember this, these RV's are heavy duty and weigh 25,000 to 60,000 pounds and require extreme safety to work on at home. I'm not aware of a specific kit, but an air compressor for heavy usage, 3/4" air impact 600 ft. pound rated, 3/4" drive impact sockets, 3/4" drive socket extension, chrome lug cap remover and torque wrench rated 500 ft. pounds or better will get you started. This is going to cost you big bucks, estimating $2,500
  18. Just another thought, remove the screws holding the spray sheild. Use a tap to thread bumber and use short 3/16" in length screws using permatex red locktite. This may give you the room your looking for.
  19. Well, thanks, Brett. I was hoping others may have experienced this and knew of manufacturers using a superior product. You're right, I do have the trained eye for details. I'm going to the Redmond FMCA Rally and plan to dig deeper on this subject. Thanks for the reply. Why are the posting times off?
  20. First Post, so excuse my learning process. Interested in upgrading to 2008 or newer coach. Have experienced small cracks (checking) in the dark colors of my coach. Has this been improved over the last 10 years? I certainly want to purchase something with an improved fiberglass. My boat is hand laid and never have experienced any craking like this, though other boat manufactures use a spray-on approach, which fails quite often. I was told Country Coach Magna and Affinity series are both hand laid fiberglass? Any others to consider?
