Check out the Honda CRV, 2 wd or 4 wd and the manual explains how to prepare for "towing behind a MH."
-
I have the AH 450-D, the manual says to use Propylene Glycol, which is a boiler type antifreeze.
-
Just to clarify USAA, they insure some RVs and some boats, up to a certain price, then they refer you to Progressive. I do not know what that price point is. Some are hesitant to use Progressive due to their politics.
-
It does not have to be "RV" furniture...which is way over priced since it's for "RVs." We bought a very nice small leather recliner to replace the most uncomfortable "RV" recliner I've ever sat in (made by Flexsteel), at Sams.

My OEM rock guard keeps anything from hitting the front of the toad, thus eliminating the need for a car shield. Here are some pics of others:

Actually, starting the toad after so many miles depends on the "recreational towing" instructions in your toads owners manual. Some toads require starting every so many miles or hours, and some don't.
Good advice, my CRV's manual says when to start it...300 miles. Many disregard these instructions, I try to stick with them, but don't all the time. For those that have toads that are not blessed by the factory to be toads...you're on your own.

I have to agree. AquaHot runs either off the electric if you are plugged in or the diesel if not plugged in. I would think that running the generator will provide the electric to heat with AquaHot on the road, but since the generator also uses diesel, I would think just running the AquaHot from diesel would be more efficient and put less wear on the generator.
These are just observations from a very new DP owner, but seem to make sense.
If on the road, the AH runs off the engine, so you are not using electric or diesel.

Thanks, Herman, think I go find a cap!

It's hard to beat a Honda CRV, has instructions in the owner's manual (so there is no doubt you can tow it four down), plus Honda's reliability, economy, and resale value.
-
I just have one suggestion for those with propane furnaces...Aqua Hot.

I would give PowerGear a call. They seem like friendly folks. I talked with them last week at a trade show in San Diego.
Unless you are a dealer, they'll answer your email, but will not talk to a customer. Having said that, they are very responsive, it's just irritating when we have a simple question, but can't talk to anybody.

If the cap alone is $26, why bother, you can get a whole new filter for less.
Re Rich's post. I tried the manual's way of changing filters...prefill the primary and fill the secondary by turning the ignition key on for a minute, then off, about six times. The manual's way did not work, I now prefill both filters, but I fill them with a funnel that has a built in filter: http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=100849&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&storeId=11151&storeNum=50366&subdeptNum=50396&classNum=50404

My Spartan manual says that if the weight on one side of an axle exceeds the other side of the same axle by more than 5% of the total GAWR, it is necessary to redistribute the load accordingly.

Joe Welcome to the forum. I don’t know your level of experience with this engine is. Don’t let the fact that the V10 is a higher revving engine worry you. There is a built in reve limiter and you can’t hurt the engine by letting it rev.
You should have no problem with the coach pulling any of the grades out west.
Bill
Translation...the V10 will be screaming bloody murder, but will do the job and you won't hurt anything.

I have a freind that has the same problem. He bought a float charger at Harbor Freight and puts it on the truck batteries whenever the MH sits for a while.
-
It was five blown fuses which I found in the power bay. I was advised to look in the power bay for a fuse box. I did and thankfully it was a easy fix.
Thanks for the advise.
I have fuses/breakers located in four different basement bays. I took a picture of each, and made a drawing of each, with every fuse labeled in the drawings.

Mine come on when I shift to "D." Call your insurance company, some will give a small discount when you have DRL.

Call GM, they should be able to help.

A MH will be a piece of cake for somebody that has lived on anything as tight as a sailboat. Looks like we need a sailors forum here...I just sold a Catalina 320.
-
Don't worry about axles. Get the MH (floor plan) you like, if it has a tag, fine, if it does not have a tag, fine.
-
Mine does.
Ours shifts a bit, slides forward while leveling. Power Gear said that's normal.

We are thinking of replacing our current Dometic unit with a residential unit.
Has anyone experienced problems with this changeover I.E. failures due to vibration, power variations , etc.
Thanks for your input.
Do you have room to get the old refer out and the new one in without going through the windshield? Will they fit through the door?

40X, that isn't a bad idea, but be sure the off side is not lower then the side you are filling You could end up with a large spill.
Herman
Good advice...if it is down hill, I still crack it, but listen as the tank is being filled and slow it down when getting nearly full...then let it dribble in until if drips out.

Sounds like a problem for an Onan tech.
Call Onan with your model and serial number, they should be able to help.

I'm on Garmin #4, my biggest complaint is that there is either no manual or it's inside the GPS. I like to have something in my lap to which I can refer when trying to work with something like a GPS.
