Do what the owner's manual says. My Cummins manual (and Honda manual) say the initial oil change that we used to do is no longer required.

Mlaser59,Welcome to the FMCA Forum.
I have the Adco tire covers from Camping World. Quality is just fine. Anytime our coach is more than an overnight, it has the covers on it.
Strongly recommend white-- it keeps the tires cooler than black.
Same here, except I had white...D/W said they did not match the coach...now I have black. At least they keep the sun off the tires.

John,Welcome to the Forum.
Now give it up John, put on some rubber gloves and do the dishes for the DW. It would be a lot less expensive and You don't have to be clamped to the counter and You are easier to store.
That's the solution in our MH!

Thank you for your replies guys.I took the coach back to the Cummins shop today. Got some really bad news, or is it good news...? The $6,800 repairs I paid for yesterday were all for naught. I met with the site manager and the negotiation begins. Turns out there was a simple test to detect gasses in the coolant that indicate a serious internal failure in the engine. In my opinion, that test should have been the first thing they did three weeks ago after I described the symptoms to them then. The site manager apologized. I didn't feel better. They have some work to do to make this right. I have faith in them to do the right thing. I guess I am still one of those guys that believes when given the respect and opportunity they deserve, people really do want to do the right things. We will see.
Thanks for your replies and your help for me. I hope to be on the road soon!
If you don't mind, which Cummins Mid South are you using? I used one of them earlier in the year and also had a problem where they did not listen to what I suggested they do and it cost me over $250...nothing compared to your bill, but the point is the same.

I'd be very careful and do lots of research. Many of the memberships are expensive and require many years obligation. We joined 1000 Trails but let it expire...the CGs were alway full of parked RVs on annual agreements and they had the best spots.

A common place on the rear would be to mount it to the ladder. That's where mine is, too.
-
On mine, the heater plug must be plugged in, then the switch turned on. The plug for the heater is in the basement compartment with the power cord.
-
I am going to stick with the manufacturers recommended filter (and no manufacturer recommends K&N). Do disrespect to Desertdeals, just my own personal choice.Same here.

I have found the two things that most affect MPG are speed and head wind.

We have a Tri Mark system in our MH. Since the door also has a dead bolt, we don't use the keyless entry for it's one lock. However, it does have a feature that locks/unlocks most of the basement doors which is great. Some basement doors must be manually unlocked such as the battery and Aqua Hot compartments.

That's what I have, the R5000. It is a screen that combines all audio systems (AM, FM, Sat), Garmin GPS, front and side cameras, all vehicle systems and more.
-
Thanks for your PM, Rich, I had forgotten about this thread. We are on the road now, and my symptoms have changed. Left signal works fine by using the turn signal or the arrow button below the screen. The right signal now works on neither the turn signal or the arrow, all I get when activating either is a totally black screen. Rear works fine. I can not fine the name of the manufacturer on any of my paperwork or on any of the hard ware.

Never heard of that. We tow a CRV and have a number of friends with CRVs...none add miles to the odometer.
-
IMHO, no need for AWD unless you live in snow country.

The fine print of your owner's manual might help. I had a 3500 Chevy dually with the Duramax. The manual said to use the T/H mode when the GCW was 75% or more of the GCWR.
-
I don't know what I'd use them for. They are way too light and small to put under a heavy MH...had them on a 5th wheel and they were barely okay.
-
Go on a few trips and see if a screen room is something you would like to have and would use. On several occasions, we have looked at something, 'thought' it would be fun and we'd use it and gotten it. One item I can think of is still in the basement, still in it's original wrappings.

If all else fails, call the manufacturer.

Your MH, and of course, your call, but a cover would be my last choice. I store my MH in a boat storage yard where the owner has a few MH storage garages. Look around maybe you can find something similar. A city the size of IND surely has something available. $285 is a bit steep, must be due to being heated.
-
Inside storage is by far the best option. Covers are an expensive pain...heavy, thus hard to get on the roof and put on, may rub a place on the MH or the MH may rub a hole in the cover, need to find a place to store it when on the road, can't get in the RV with the cover on (unless it has a zippered door), RV gets moldy if cover is too tight, etc.
For a new rig, IMHO the best option, by far, is covered and locked storage with power.

That's good information. I had the After Treatment DPF idiot light come on...called Cummins, they said just keep driving. I did and it went off as described.
-
One thing to consider when getting MH tires, is that normally they will die of old age long before the tread wears out.
-
If it's only four months old, take it to the dealer and let him figure it out...at his expense.

How old are they?
Axle Weight Differences
in Weight

My Spartan manual says "If the weight of one side of an axle exceeds the weight on the other side of that same axle by more than 5% of the total axle rating (GAWR), it is necessary to redistribute the load appropriately."
