  1. By the way, some will have white instead of blue numbers. Means the same thing.
  2. Right you are good Sir. Those are our HR Club numbers. Cheers

  6. That is a great endorsement. Thanks. I had heard good words about them.... Good to know about the campground.
  7. Any idea how these are different than the Comfort Ride Control Valves from Brazel's? Cheers Leo
  8. Hello friends: So I searched the forum and was surprise to see no discussion of the Comfort Ride Control Valves from Brazel's. The DW is always wanting the coach to ride like the Mercedes so I am always on the hunt. She REALLY hates the expansion joints on the freeway and ALL proposing at any speed. We already put on the Koni's and that made her almost happy. Any thought is these Comfort Ride Control Valves will help or are they all sales pitch? Thanks in advance Leo
  9. I'm running the Aero muffler and the new K&N Air Filter. That gained me almost one MPG on my 515 Detroit. Had a friend who is a LAB tester by profession analyze the air flow and quality just before it entered the intake manifold. The air flow increased and the quality (pp something he measures :-) ) did not change under the five conditions he tested including a simulated dust storm. There was baby powder in the air and it looked like fog being sucked into the air filter. Yes, he cleaned it for me in the lab before I left. He did note that the air temp going into the intake manifold decreased by 7 degrees in all tests. He contributed that to the higher air flow of the K&N. So, although the test were ran in an simulated real environment by a lab rat, I would not say it was TOTALLY scientific meaning that the results many be limited to my specific configuration and system. BUT, I like it.... On a side note, it did not increase MPG based on my old man driving styles, but I had a turbo wrap installed and they thermal wrapped the exhaust all the way to the muffler, only about eight feet of pipe on my rig. I brought down the temp in our bedroom which is over the engine compartment, makes for much quicker turbo spin-up (but I hardly notice with my driving style), and it makes my exhaust sound cool with the jake brake. OK, this is not why I did it. It actually improves the scavenging effect of the exhaust allowing it to handle the extra air flow without increasing exhaust gas temps. BUT it does sound cool :-) Cheers Leo

  12. Totally agree Herman: Let's make that a national law. We have laws for everything else, but I degrees... They did ok mounting our Central Vac in the middle of the coach, but we have to be Hercules to get to the area under the bed. Seems they should have added a lift assist for us old men... or something.... As you say, if they used it for awhile they would know that. Cheers all Leo
  13. Ok, I have a HR Navigator and from the factory it came plumbed in a manner that is confusing most of our experts. I finally found Rick from the RV water store who came out and and explained it's operation to me. I tracked the plumbing in the owners manual and it currently is the way it was built. I have what I think is the EXACT situation. HOWEVER, that is the way it was plumbed. Here is the deal: I can ONLY use water out of the fresh water tank. I CANNOT use city water directly. Like you, when I open the valve to the city position, the water goes directly to the fresh tank. There is no plumbing into the system directly from city water. When I worked thorough this after I bought the coach, it was plumbed that way for the following two reasons: 1. The coach has an fancy fresh water filtering system with RO, UV light, and five filters and this configuration means all water entering into the coach goes through the filter/RO system. 2. It allows me to use the fresh water hose as an external "garden hose," I just remove the cap from the hose and turn the water pump on in the tank position and walla, instant garden hose. Fast way to empty the fresh water tank if your nor careful, but it does have some uses. Down side, when in a campground I need to turn on the city water once a week or so to fill the tank back up. On the positive side it does mean that the water in my fresh tank cycles frequently even when in a fixed location for extended periods. Good thing or bad thing? I don't really know. It just is and I am use to it now. Cheers Leo
  14. I put Centramatics on all three axles. Only about 600 for the entire coach and I think they help smooth out the ride beyond just balancing the tires.
  15. The crossfire is a very important asset with duals. The inside tire always runs hotter than the outside tire. Hence the air expands and the tire gets larger carrying more of the weight of the coach. Additionally, with the crown of the road the problem gets worse. The $150.00 for the crossfire is a cheap investment.

    Steering Problem

I may be an EX-PERT but I don't know about much else. That said, I know EXACTLY what is in my complete hyd system, the part numbers, pressures, and other facts I never wanted to know. In the end, I NOW have a COMPLETE new hyd system that I hopes out lives me. I also paid a little out of pocket and have an up=power cooling fan and radiator. I also went ahead and sprang for a red head steering gear. THAT was the best thing out of all......

    Steering Problem

Thanks one and all for your support and advice on this this. Final solution was to replace: Power Steering Gear Power Steering Pump hydraulic Fan drive motor Fan drive pump Temp sensor on radiator Replace all hydraulic lines $15,676 Fan drive motor failed, sent metal shavings into the system. Filter plugged and bypassed sending metal to all parts of the system To give myself a little extra chance to spot a potential problem before this happens, I added an additional LARGE in-line filter with the factory filter and added a by-pass filter from Gulf Coast Filters. A little insurance. By the way, I was changing my fluid every 5K. Poop, happens and it got me good. MOST of the delay was fighting GS who only wanted to replace one part at a time to keep costs down and the fact that three of these parts were special order that took months to get. Reapir facility feedback, Buckley WV: Heritage Truck Center - 1st Rate Lee Terminal - I would not go back there. Cheers Leo

    Steering Problem

Well,...because all HR'S don't use that pump and the pressures control fan speed which controls the amount of cooling. Without the data plates, http://en.visonerv.com/ can't determine the fan speed. As my coach is designed to work at the highest speed, there is a 90+ percent chance that I would suffer over heating. This is the last part to replace to complete a 15K hydraulic system rebuild caused by a pump failure. clearly I don't want to any problems after this budget buster.

    Steering Problem

Thanks for the suggestion. Yep, been there and called them. They have pumps, but most have no data plate and the ones that do have plates do not match mine, I found out talking to the manufacture (of record) of the pump that two pumps that look exactly the same can be very different. They actually sent me the engineering blueprint for my pump and there is six versions that all look the same on the outside but turn a different rates and work on different pressures. That is why they are not stocked in inventory. In fact, HR order the spec they waned for my rig when built and the pumps they wanted in one batch. I'm sure others use the same pump and spec but everyone has their own part number and they do not cross walk. I found that Sauer-Danfauss is listed as the manufacture, but they only by the pump from a company in England. If I could only find out who REALLY makes it.....

Thanks Rich: For all of you helping me - THANK YOU! Here is some additional information off the current motor: Sauer-Danfoss Date code: 09ddcd3 Type code: 551101303210 I'm calling around with no luck over the weekend. Is there a "replace" drive motor in a cross-reference list somewhere? Thanks SO MUCH for helping. Leo

I am worried about that Rich. They are still trying to get a fan drive motor. The problem seems to be a lack of motivation in the parts department. They still have not called Nova. I'm going crazy calling daily.
  24. You got me..... 8 is the min.... BUT I always buy two spares with a complete set so they are all the same age.
