This sounds like it's been designed for diesels. My rig is a gas and the temp. is controlled by a thermostat to be around 180 degrees, I can only assume that would be the exhaust temp. Sounds like a heck of an idea though. Larry

Thanks to all for the info. I have been talking to a number of graphics companys here in Portland, seems like this type of application is not something that is to popular and I am getting a lot of lip service, (I think,I think; I'm not sure-but) The prices are all over the place, from $400 to one guy that said I would need to strip all the paint and repaint the rear first. I haven't given up yet

Has anyone ran across a good web page or a good publication listing ghost towns?? I tried Google and the info is sketchy to say the least. I would like to plan our travels in 2012 around ghost towns and need locations in order to plot our course. I would hate to drive hundreds of miles only to find a pile of boards. Larry and Rita

Iceman567, I mounted my saw on a 12 x 12 inch sheet of 3/4 plywood and got two wood clamps to clamp it to the picnic tables, last time I did this I sold about $10 worth of the things I cut to walkers, everyone that came by stopped to talk, we went through a party perk of coffee. If you plan cuttings that relate to RVs or dogs, everyone in the park will stop. Larry

I just thought I needed a hobby during the boring times (During the Soaps). I thought about the weight of whatever I found, space limitations and noise created during work. I was, in my former life, a very active woodworker, and I had about $9,000 in tools and machines -- two garages full -- but that was before the downsizing. (My tools were the last thing I gave up). So I thought doing scroll saw work would fill the bill. ANY OTHER SCROLLERS OUT THERE?

I have a 34 footer and covered one season. The resulting wind damage of not only the RV but to the cover caused me to throw away the cover and next season I just had a good coat of roof sealer, and a good coat of wax before I winterized. I counted bungy cords that I had bought just to tie down the cover and I have about 23 that survived. I will follow suite this winter,seal and wax. Next chance you get peer over the fence of any storage yard and count how many have covers.

By my way of thinking, the cops will not pull you over without just cause, unless it's at the border. If you become combative at any age they can do whatever. I feel your moterhome is like your stick home, by rule the cops cannot just drive down the street and randomly stop at a house , and search it-without just cause. They must by law get your premission before hand and state to you a valid reason they picked you. Otherwise they need a warrent. Wouldn't your moterhome be governed by the same rules??

I have a ’99 Pace Arrow with a Domestic 1292 Refer. The problem is old age, there is an ice maker with a model M1 as the only designation, The ice maker quit making ice and on investigation we found the water supply line had died of old age and fell apart. I know the frig. will have to be removed or pulled out to access the back, but I have taken all the screws out of the ice maker so I can take it out, but it seems to be hung up where the water comes in, it seems to be plenty loose. I have heard that if you pull the frig out about a foot you can come down from the top and fish the replacement line down to the supply unit. Sounds like the way to go for a one man operation but I still can’t get the ice maker itself out of the freezer. How do you remove the icemaker unit????????

We, rather I have a problem remembering peoples names and faces,so I downloaded a program from Avery.com(many more are around) and I put our picture on the left side and our e-mails on the right, (these are for the people I know we will never see again, you can feel it when you approach them). Then I took about 10 of them (One sheet) and printed our mail address on the back (These are for the fun people). I was shocked how many people thought this was a great idea, rather than trying to find a piece of paper and pin, just stick it in their pocket for later. This is a great ice breaker.

I would never use that caustic of chemicals in our RV. Really messes up the rubber and plastic connections, not to mention what it does to the bacteria in the grey tank. I don't know if even leaving the valve open, you could run enough water to flush the tank.

This is old news. On iRV2.com there was a lovley young lady from Flying J that offered to answer any questions sent her way. Within 2 months there were 35,000 posts, she stopped answering around 400, and probly hid under her desk. Some of the questions were repeated 20 or 30 or 40 times, I commend her for trying but there are just so many questions before all are satisfied, asking the same question so many times is dumb. Most Flying Js are out in the boondocks and are on septic systems, althogh they are very large the maint. would be expensive, so they decided to pass some of it on to us. Notice it happened right after the merger with Pilot.

I just got an e-mail from the South Dakota travel. I am considering on making the trip the end of Sept. Looks like a fun week, nothing about RVs, but there are as you have found, many campgrounds. I let my 16 year old drive in the mountains, with the wife in the passenger seat.(Guess which side the drop-off was on.) That was 30 years ago, and I still hear about it.

I have noticed that a lot of the upper-end rigs have neat pictures on the back. I know most are factory applied, but I Googled RV Decals and found quite a few that can be bought and applied. Has anyone been brave enough to do this? I was looking at my tail-end and it looks naked except for the Pace Arrow decal. I have a 34 foot Class A. I'm sure this would require two able people and some prep work.

As I get older I have a problem remembering names, when we meet people in our travels I tend to forget their faces and names, so I got on my computer and downloaded a free program from Avery.com, and made my "Introduction Cards" ie-Business Cards. I took one of our more flattering pictures and added some contact details, without getting to personal. Printed about 10 and stuck them in my pocket, as I met folks I thought I would like to stay in touch with, I would give them a card, that way they could associate a face with a name, has been the hit of the parties, even printed some for various couples with their info. I got a request the other day from one of my new friends for more, think I may have to start charging for them. I tried to add a pic of the finished card but it's in an Avery format and can't copy and past it.

I will be making a 4 or 5 month trip down the west coast in Sept. I currently have a big heavy car and am not going to tow it with my RV because it's to heavy. Has any one heard about Toad Rentals??????? I really don't want another car sitting around waiting for a trip, or the extra cost of insurance for a part time car.

Funny- We bought our coach so we could be with our kids too. We lived in southern Cal. and bought a big house so our grandkids could spend more time with us, then 5 months later they moved to Wash. My wife called me at work and said "I'm moving to Wash. Wanna retire and come along?" "Grandkids Hold your hands for a while-your heart forever" Sandy RV is a very nice park, there are a bunch of them around the Vancouver/Portland area. I found a site that is from the U.S. Department of Transportation that lists some short 200 + drives around the nation. It lists some places to stop and gives you the miles and camping areas (they are partial to the government parks): http://www.byways.org. I have taken two of the trips and found the info in the book they offer (Free) to be dead-on. We did the Idaho to Canada Loop and really saw some great sites and met some very nice people. Try it -- the book is free and you will really enjoy it.

Just nosy, Why Portland? There are so many coastal and mountain RV resorts that offer a great stay, and just a short drive to Portland. I live in Vancouver, WA. just across the river from Portland and we use every chance we get to "run away". I have an older 1999 Pace Arrow, with a Domestic Refrigerator. The water supply line on the back has fallen apart from old age (Like Me). Is there a way to replace the line without having to take the refer totally out? Spec. sheet says 280 lbs. I have dinked with trying to remove the ice maker from the inside but can't do much more than get it to hang, must be something on the back I don't know about. Where can I buy the replacement line with the heating coil attached? I can buy replacement hose from Lowes but I'm not thrilled with that idea, no heater wire. I hate makeshift repairs, because you have to go back later and correct your work. Larry
