  1. My DW & I are planning a trip from Glacier NP Montana to Vancouver Canada.Primary highways are the Queen Elizabeth Hwy 2 North to the Trans-Canada Hwy 1 West all the way to Vancouver.I'm looking for feedback from folks that have done this route. Our primary goals are scenic beauty & wildlife viewing. Our travel would be in August & September. How are the highways? Any cautions or probable issues? Recommended side trips along our route. Campgrounds with scenery and full hookups, full hookups required, scenery optional. We travel in a 36' Country Coach Diesel. We will be towing a Ford Explorer. All input is appreciated.Thank You,Ron Jacobs
  2. Yesterday my friend had his chassis batteries replaced with new batteries identical to the original. The coach is a 2010 Fleetwood Discovery with a 350HP Cummins engine and a Spartan chassis. During his drive home he noticed that his 12 volt powered chassis lights stopped working. He lost his turn signals, brake lights, running lights, head & tail lights, possibly more I'm not sure. The strange thing is his lights work if the engine isn't running. Upon starting the engine all lights stop working after the engine runs for about 30 seconds. This problem did not exist until after he had his batteries changed. ANY SUGGESTIONS/HELP will be greatly appreciated. RJ
  3. Went to the coach today, fired up the rear air conditioner to check it out and it fired up and worked just fine. Input on what's going on appreciated. Rj 2005 inspire #51264.
  4. My rear Duo-Therm roof air conditioner fan motor does not come on. I can here the air conditioner compressor come on but the blower fan does not. Is the suspect issue the motor starter capacitor? If so what is the test procedure. What else might be causing this? Thank you, RJ 2005 CC Inspire #51264
  5. Rich, The battery was 10 years old.
  6. I'm a little embarrassed to say it was my chassis battery after all. It was reading 12.7 volts but was so low on amps that it would not even light up my dash lights. I finally wired a direct short from positive to negative posts and barely got a spark from the battery. That's when I knew it was my battery. I replaced my battery and now all is well. Starts great! I want to thank everyone for all their valuable input. RJ 2005 Inspire #51264
  7. Blake, The 12.7 volts if with my battery charger turned off. The battery charger was off overnight before I checked the voltage on the chassis battery. RJ
  8. Brett, Thanks, If it ever stops raining here in Dallas I will go out and check my ignition solenoid. Is ignition solenoid and starter solenoid one in the same. I have a starter solenoid next to my master disconnect switch in my battery bay. RJ
  9. I have a 2005 CC Inspire with a Cat C-9 Engine. When I turn on my ignition switch nothing happens! None of the dash lights come on, everything stays dead. If I hold down the battery boost switch all my dash lights come on, however there is not enough power to start the coach. My chassis battery reads 12.7 volts and my charger says it's fully charged. I even connected my Fat Max jumper battery on to the chassis battery just in case I was showing battery voltage but not getting any amperage out of it. Still nothing, not even dash lights when I turn on the ignition! It appears as though nothing that is powered by my chassis battery is getting any power as my front door power lock does not even work! My thinking is that I have a bad starter relay. Can anyone tell me where it's located and how I can verify that this is my problem. Any other ideas as to what might be be the problem is appreciated. Fortunately the coach is sitting in front of our house so we are not stranded anywhere. Thank you, Ron Jacobs 2005 CC Inspire #51264
  10. I have a Cat C-9 engine in my 2005 CC inspire. Since I had my leaking aluminum radiator changed three years ago to a steel & copper radiator my fan isn't running fast enough in low speed to maintain a constant 200 to 205 temperature. The engine temp will climb up to 206 the fan switches to high and runs until the temperature reaches 190 degrees. This cycle continues constantly regardless of the ambient temperature or weather or not I'm climbing a grade. What I would like to do is increase the fan's low speed rpm enough to maintain a constant temperature when not climbing grades or driving in high outside temperatures. I have a Sauer Danfoss fan controller #1090385 my controller inputs are from the ECM. My fan defaults to high speed whenever power is not present to the controller. That being the case, can I simply add an in line resistor to the 12 volt power going to the hydraulic control valve. My logic is if I can lower the voltage going to the hydraulic control valve, a little, that in turn will allow the valve to close a little more allowing more hydraulic fluid to the fan motor. Does my logic sound plausible? Any compelling reason why I shouldn't try to add a resistor to the 12 volt power supply line going to the hydraulic control valve? RJ 2005 CC Inspire #51264
  11. I change my own oil, filter, fuel filters, lube and other filters & oils & subs as necessary. RJ 2005 CC Inspire #51264

  13. Joseph I have a 2005 CC Inspire. I have the ride height and alignment spec sheet if you still need it. Rj 2005 Inspire #51264.
  14. Herman I replaced my Nocold late last year with the Samsung RF18 model. I have not replaced my MSW inverter or my house batteries. We just got home from a 3600 mile east coast trip. The Samsung worked perfect. I did the install myself. Not to difficult a project. I live in Plano, not far from you. When you are ready to install yours I will help you if you would like. RJ 2005 CC Inspire #51264
  15. Last year I replaced the carpet in my coach with engineered hardwood. The job was relatively easy and it turned out great. I did not have any issues working around the slides. I did not remove the existing ceramic tilt in the kitchen area. I'll try and attach a pic RJ 2005 CC Inspire #51264
  16. The problem turned out to be the starter solenoid. The contacts had corroded and we're making intermittent contact. I was able to remove the back of the solenoid, remove and clean the contacts, reassemble and now the coach starts every time. This was an easy job if you are a little mechanically inclined, it takes about an hour. RJ 2005 CC Inspire #51264
  17. When I attempt to start my engine, I get a click sound, but the starter doesn't engage. When I repeat the starting process a couple more times, the starter engages and starts just fine. I'm thinking I may have a solenoid going out. Other thoughts and advice would be appreciated. RJ 2005 Country Coach Inspire C-9 Cat
  18. Problem found. I have an exhaust leak. The flex pipe section in the exhaust is broken at both ends. I ordered 5" exhaust clamps to seal the breaks. I will install them tomorrow. Rj 2005inspire.
  19. We have had diesel exhaust smell in our coach since we purchased it 4 years ago. After I resealed the engine access cover a few years ago we thought the problem was solved as the smell seemed to be mostly gone. Recently we have been noticing the smell more. Just before our last trip I once again removed the engine access cover and resealed it again. The odor seems to come and go to some degree but rarely completely gone. We have a washer/dryer in the back of the coach that exhausts to the outside. I have plugged the vent cover with foam, but that doesn't seem to have solved the problem. Any suggestions as to what might be the cause would be greatly appreciated. RJ 2005 Country Coach Inspire #51264
  20. I think you are looking for a butterfly leaf table. The leafs store under the table and fold out when needed. I have a double leaf table that opens up to 50" when fully extended. Attached are a few pics. RJ 2005 Inspire #51264
  21. I have an Atwood Water Heater model: GC10A-4E that has stopped working on the gas side. The electric side heats water just fine. Description of problem: When I flip the switch at the control panel the gas comes on and I have flame ignition for about 2 seconds, then the system shuts down. The system repeats this sequence three times, then the red light on my control panel lights up. I can turn the switch off and back on and get the same result time after time. My thinking is that a sensor that is suppose to detect the flame is malfunctioning. When I called Atwood and described my problem they said it was most likely my main control board. I would like to get other opinions/confirmations before ordering a new main board. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Ron Jacobs 2005 CC Inspire #51264
  22. It's available through Amazon. 2005 Inspire
  23. I want to thank everyone for their suggestions. I have found just the right reclining loveseat made by Clay Madison. It's 60" wide, wall hugger and has good buyer reviews. It's also made in America.
  24. Rich, It was a Montana 3710 model, not sure who makes it. RJ
