I have nearly the exact same issue with an older Detroit 8V92 and no one has ever been able to figure out why I am not producing the boost that I used to. Even when it gets "wound up" I still see less boost than I used to. The fuel pressure is correct where you would measure fuel pressure, the turbo is good and the filters are all good. Could you tell me a bit more about what exactly you found to be a problem? How did someone diagonsis this problem? Where is the located that found the problem? I will go anywhere to get my power back!

Congrats! Enjoy.

An inverter that has auto start for the generator? Never heard of that.

Be sure to call Hope Valley first and let them know about your setup. There are no pull throughs and some are tent sites only. It appears 30 amp only as well so they may not be well equipped for a big rig.

Portable BBQ Grills For Carrying In RV
BillAdams replied to petersensrv's topic in General Discussion
I like the Solaire grills. They are expensive but will last forever and the amount of heat from the infrared element is unbelieveable. http://solairegasgrills.com/products/accessories/portable-grills/ -
You do not need a 12V TV. You don't have one now either. Get the most TV you can get. Either pick one that will fit in the existing opening with little or no modifications or get one that will overlap the existing hole and surround and add some wood to mount a TV bracket to. If there is a wooden frame around the TV there is either a screw at each corner covered by a wooden button or the frame has screws that go from side cabinets in toward the frame which need to be backed out. Once you get the frame out, the rest of the removal should become obvious.

Check out http://www.rvparky.com and type in the city. There's nothing real close but a couple that would not be an awfully long drive.

I just got a quote and it appears to be almost half of my current Progressive coverage. I am going to verify the coverages are exactly the same.

Anyone know where you can find a good fin comb these days. I have looked and looked at the various retail stores and cannot fine anything other than one with a bunch of wires with no particular spacing adjustments. I used to have a plastic fin comb with several spacing options but I don't know what happened to it or where to find a replacement.

Tip For Keeping Your Black Water Tank Clean
BillAdams replied to santacarver's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
I use a water softener in my coach so all water entering the tanks is already soft. I have no idea if that makes the flush any more or less effective. -
That's why you need an oil analysis. It answers all questions about the extra stuff in the oil (other than oil).

??????? I do have a Splendide, I do use the Pods and I do recommend that others do so as well. Oh, wait, I have only been doing this since the Pods were released so my 5-6 years of experice with this product may not be enough.

Any HE soap works great. We use the little "pods". So is any toilet paper, no RV paper required.

"New" 1990 Bluebird Wanderlodge "Smoke and Mirrors"
BillAdams replied to mpierce's topic in RV Photo Gallery
The works starts by getting rid of those analog TV's! Congrats on the new coach. -
If you get nothing else from this thread, please, please, please understand that an engine "making oil" is a very bad thing. Saying that it slowed down only means that it might take a bit longer before things go terribly, terribly wrong. However, the only end result will be things going terribly, terribly wrong.

You said "thousands of dollars in damage" and then you talk about an add-on that will raise the rear "several inches". How many inches is "several" and would "several" prevent this damage from occuring in the future? What if you forget (and you will)? Are you willing to pay thousands of dollars again?
-
The best advice is likely not the advice you are looking for. If you need more than a couple of extra inches of clearance you are not likely going to find a modification that will be good for the coach. That only leaves fixing the angle of the driveway or not taking the RV into the driveway at all.

FMCA/Michelin National Account Tire Purchase
BillAdams replied to geosharonw's topic in Membership/Benefits
I will never understand why someone uses a debit card when they have a credit card in their wallet. Sorry to get off-topic. Glad to hear the FMCA tire program works as advertised! -
You do see that this was a post from May of 2103, right?

Rules for Dogs at Redmond Family Reunion
BillAdams replied to huffypuff's topic in FMCA Redmond, Oregon, 2014 Family Reunion
You bet! I always keep my genset serviced and ready. We are currently in Tucson, AZ with 100+ temps. If the campground were to lose power (and they do during these excessive power draw periods) I want to know for certain that my generator will be able to handle the load.- 15 replies

To say "Oklahoma is no more dangerous for storms than most other states" is simply not correct. It's not OK only but OK and several other States in Tornado Alley do have a higher risk of severe weather (spell that extremely destructive and/or deadly). Special attention should be paid when traveling into these areas. The rest of the Country is not immune (like FL in the Summer) but the reality is these areas are going to see more severe and more damaging storms than any other part of the US.

Rules for Dogs at Redmond Family Reunion
BillAdams replied to huffypuff's topic in FMCA Redmond, Oregon, 2014 Family Reunion
Now, add up the cost of running the genset 24/7 to survive the near 100 degree temps possible in that area that time of year and you will wish you had an electric site! It's a great facility, however, so you should have a great time no matter how you do it!- 15 replies

City Water Leaks Into Grey Water Tank
BillAdams replied to udokoch's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
I sure hope your toilets do not drain into the grey tank! -
Traveling at 60 mph with the generator burning 1 gph (or less) that's 1 gallon burned every 60 miles or 1/60 .017 miles per gallon (my flawed math). The generator is getting 60MPG though! Guess it really doesn't work that way, however, when looking at the results. It depends upon the coach MPG. At 5 MPG like my coach I would burn 12 gallons to go 60 miles or 13 gallons to go 60 miles with the generator so 4.62 MPG. At 10 MPG I would burn 6 gallons to go 60 miles or 7 gallons with the generator so 8.57 MPG. If you happened to get 15 MPG the hit is even higher. Running the generator for an hour would reduce you to 12MPG.
