  1. Rich, good point I was thinking about the inside shower too but it didn't type that way. I had a problem with the lever on the winterizing valve. Last summer I had to bypass the hot water heater so I could put water on the coach. When I moved the lever it didn't completely close the valve. Finley found the lever was slipping on the valve stem. I was having the same luke warm water problems.

  2. Hey guys I could use some help with a 2005 Acura MDX. I have it all rigged to tow, brake system etc. PROBLEM: After towing it for a while the battery is dead or near dead. I contacted a dealer and was told that it was the "hands free" system that stays on and draws the battery down. I was told I had to disconnect it by removing the rear view mirror, overhead console then pull down the headliner and unplug it. I was on vacation and do not want to loose my blue tooth. I disconnected the battery each time which lost the memory for several things. I can not identify which fuse protects the hands free circuit. If I can find it I can install a switch to turn it off when towing and not have to put in security codes each time. I am hoping that someone has been able to identify the fuse. The dealer was not very helpful. Thanks Mel Parks, Colorado

Welcome to the forum. You should be able to find what fuse powers the hands free system or you can run a charge line to keep the battery up.

  3. I have an older Master Tow, tow dolly and it's not required to be registered in my state. So, how do I find out what states require tow dollies to be registered. Or am I exempt if home state does not require registration.

Also, this model doesn't have brakes what is the law on that been using 4 years now, and brakes cannot be added.

    :o:wacko::blink:

I would sell that one and buy one with brakes. I would not tow a dolly with out brakes. I towed a dolly for two years. Your stopping distance is shorter with brakes on the dolly. Would you rather stop five feet before the car that stopped in front of you or five feet after you hit that car?

  4. Bill,

I understand your point, but remember, rubber degrades with age. Said another way, a 6 year old spare is NOT the same as a new belt.

Certainly part of the equation is labor cost to replace the belt. I do it myself, so go the "install new/keep old for spare".

I understand what you are saying, but how long did you run the old belt you took off? Now how long before you might have to use it? I would rather have that aged but new belt.

  5. I have always wondered about the wisdom of keeping a belt that you changed because you no longer trust as a spare. This would mean you will have to change it twice. Once because the one on the coach breaks and later to replace the used belt that you didn't trust. I keep a new spare so if I ever have to change it I only have to do it once.

  6. Just got home from a rally with the Chapter club that we belong to.

Thanks everybody for the replies, I have a new fuel filter and going to try and change it tomorrow. will let you know if that helps with the problem.

Wildbill, where do I check the codes at?

    Regards,

    Michael

Michael, on the start switch on the generator, press it toward the off-prime. It will flash a code. Look in your owners Manuel page 47 for a description of how to interrupt the codes. If you don't have a copy you can down load one from Quick serve. you should have your engine serial number and your generator serial number.

  7. Well I guess everybody is mounting it there. Wrong again!! I bought a twin fan rooftop condensor on sale from an area KW store, had custom hoses made, and put it up top on the front of my 88 gasser. Used R-12 so it threw ice cubes out. The engine ran cooler also. Those were the days. I would never attempt it again though.

How is what you did on a 1988 gasser relevant to the op post on his 2003 diesel pusher?

  8. The super singles started showing up on tractor trailers quite awhile back. They have not gained wide spread acceptance. The big fleets have thousands of tractors and trailers and if it was a good idea, the fleet managers would have speced them on most of their rigs by now. It has not happened. You see them , but not very often. I wouldn't touch'em because of cost to convert and inability to limp to a tire center or home. I did not know about bearing load considerations . Another reason to stay away

How are you going to limp if it is a flat on the front?
