Passenger seat foot rest won’t rise and electric motor does click as if it wants to extend any ideas guys

I had a defect where the linkage would bind in the seat spring.  Had to take to upholstery shop to replace spring and do some welding.

I sure have to disagree here.  Not being prepared for that (yes, rare) tank of contaminated  fuel is an unnecessary risk.  Again, carry them whether you can install them or have them on hand for someone else to install.

Only downside is having filters on hand ahead of when you know you will need them.

On my previous coach keeping them clean and dry is and issue.  It's hard to get repair shops to rotate stock to your basement.  I have the part numbers handy if needed.  Using truck stops that's always busy helps to have clean fuel.

I am looking for advice regarding the water fuel separator on my 2018 Entegra Coach.  I have a 450hp Cummins ISL9 with the type of Separator that you twist the knob on the bottom to drain the water from.  According to everything I have read you should do this periodically.

I took my coach in for its first annual service to a very reputable repair facility.  The Service Adviser told me I should never do this. He said that i should trust the sensor, it will let me know if there is water in the system.  He said that if I drain the separator there is the potential for getting air in the system and then the coach wont start.  He said that if I insist that I should drain no more than a shot glass of fluid and then start the engine and let it run before draining more in order to avoid a air pocket in the fuel system.

Again he reinforced that I should not have to drain this.

    Any opinions?

Follow your service guy advice and let them change both filters at you annual service.  I do this and stopped carrying filters.  I also do this for generator filter.

  5. Well it time for us to go home and lick our wounds.  In about a hour before orientation on new motorhome sales called and said the loan has stalled.  So after six weeks of waiting and packed to move to new coach this happen.  We are sick of it and don't care for it anymore.  We are going home and try to forget that we wasted the last six weeks of our vacation being duped by RV Country and their loan companies.  .

That bit of information is good, but it invokes a lousy picture in my mind..

Ray, when are you getting the new coach?

There is a couple of things going on now with the bank.  First the loan is in final approval.  Second they ordered a appraisal.  Also I  made a punch list of things to be repaired and RV country is working on that.  Don't expect repairs to be done until the end of next week.

Lots of people making assumptions. Do you have 50 amp service in your coach? Do you feel you need 50 amp and is there 50 amp available to plug into? If it is 30 amp be shure like everyone caution it is the right outlet. 30 amp 120 not 30 amp 240.

Last Summer in Minot I had to use 2- 30 amp extensions to get to the 30 amp shore power  outlet. This and my primary 50 amp cord stretched out as far as it would go. I didn't experience any problems with power. I was also using my Surge Guard to protect from low voltage.

As long as you  have a good extension There should not be a problem.  I can run one AC plugged into 30 amp with no problem. You might want to shut it off if you need to use anouther hidraw/hiload appliance or groupe.

Look at the title of this thread and you will know.

The first question is "How far do you need run to plug in?"  Also you will need a 30 amp receptacle and breaker to supply power. I hope you weren't planning on using a standard 14 gauge extension cord. You will need a minimum of 10 gauge cord with 30 amp connectors.

All of this is assuming your coach is only 30 amp and one A/C.

    Herman

When I had a 30 amp coach it was wired to only run one ac at a time.  There was a switch in the front cabinet that was marked front and rear.

If you only want it to operate on propane, just unplug the 120 VAC cord at the back of the refrigerator.

True, but you can also select propane only on the panel.  That is what I'm doing now until I hopefully trade my coach in.  The good thing about this discussion is now most here  know whats the problem.  A shorted heater element can burn holes in metal.  Then it can switch to propane to burn escaping gasses then the entire motorhome,

Joe, Think there is a hidden design flaw. When the electric system shorts out / fails, the refrigerator control board will tend to switch to LP. That is a auto function  on many models.

One can defeat that by placing the system in the LP mode manually. Not real positive if that step will prevent your case, but it would keep the gas valve open and no AC supplied to the 2 - 400 watt electric heater coils that light up the coolant in the system.  Kind of like using a lighter to light a number of chemicals spraying out of the can.

    Rich.

    That's what I do

YUP, ours went up in flames on electric. For the life of me I still cannot figure out why the propane valve opened and the ignition turned on. It was simultaneously!

If the fridge was on automatic and you lost 120 tripping a fuse because of a short the fridge still having 12 volts will light up the burner after flashing no ac on the control panel.

Not nearly as flammable as it used to be, earlier version was propelled by LP gas, now non flammable air. I used to use it to start a hard starting lawnmower, not any more. I wonder how many know what WD40 stands for?  sure hope the fridge goes back to work after drying out this time.

WD40 stands for Water Displacement and the 40th formula

  13. I had to repair the awning wiring myself as I didn't want to trade in the coach with anything wrong with.  I trusted Liberty Coach in Sumner, WA to fix it and they didn't do it correct.  It have a bad connector that has the greenish meanies on it that wire has to be cut out of connector and new terminals.  To repair correctly I cut to through the wall connector off and spliced all five wires, then reseal the hole. The black wire for the motor had the greenish meanies running up it and had to be cut back a couple of inches to clean copper.  I hate when a shop fail to repair something I tell them to and they act like I'm the dumbly.  .

    Ray,

I would not ride in a none tag chassis, unless it was a Roadmaster.  IMO our ride is very similar. Your new coach should ride better than mine!  When  you get to a drive way, like fuel stops, take it as much head on as possible, there is more twist in a 45' than a 40'.

Yes, I now have the 8 baggier roadmaster chassis and it don't ride too bad.  I was told that the tag reduce purposing weather I think it's having it or not   One of my biggest fear is if and when I get the new coach is the first scratch.  😨

Ray, the chassis is 44' 11"...So everyone calls it 45, mine is the same as your's...The Canada Ferry measured mine from the most forward point, by laser, to the rear at 47' 3" and that is not counting the hitch & toad.  Total length was 64' 7", came out the same on both Ferries!  Then they added on 18" front & back, yes, you pay for 3' off dead space!!

After you drive that chassis for a good while, how to you like the handling?  What I have at present is a little loose but not of and concern.  I don't have a tag on the HR.

Looks and read's good, think you'll both like it..😀 Your overall length is 47' +/-...Chassis plus both end caps!  Enjoy!!

I;m not sure at overall length but listed as 44, then 45 feet.  Who's on first?

That looks great. I like the paint scheme. Do a good shake down before you leave the  lot. You have lots more leverage now. Will you be able to spend at least one night in it before you leave?

    Bill

The outside paint scheme is called Jazz and the inside is champagne.  I don't like bright colors.

Ray, now that you have a bank, when & where do you take delivery?

I have several friends & will ask if they use bulk at Flying J.

Looks like it's all approved and waiting for underwriters to make the wheels turn.  Location now in Laughlin, NV and going into the area next week.   Here is the link to it.  Looks like the video has been taken down but the is a pictures tab above it.

Well...… it happened again.... and, it won't clear.

We lost power fairly drastically.... pulled over.... tried the same things as before.... but code would still not clear.... we decided to drive a little.... it SEEMED to be working fine, good power, but.... as I said.... check engine stayed on.

We were able to make it home to Pipe Creek Texas (north west San Antonio).

    Now.... my question -

any recommendations for mechanics / shops in the NW San Antonio Area?  The nearest Cummins and Freightliner are both on the east side of San Antonio (about 50 miles away).

If there is something closer I'd prefer that..... OR.... should I just suck it up and drive the 50 miles.  And... if I do, would there be a preference between Cummins or Freightliner?  (they are very near each other)

Did you follow Brett advice and replace the fuel filters?
