Sorry for the lack of information.  The coach is a 2018 Entegra Insignia 45ft.  It was produces in 2017 but I think the Chassis was built by Spartan at the very end of 2016 if memory serves.

I drove the home from the campground which was only an hour away, the temp out was around 75 and I only had the AC on about half power.  I got home, unloaded the coach and about two hours later drove to the storage facility which is only about 20 min away.  About 20 min after parking to store it I noticed all of the water.  I opened the Generator door and thats when I noticed the drain tube was clogged.  I saw that the whole evaporator was wet and the bottom inch had a layer of Ice on it which was melting quickly.  The AC was blowing cold the whole time but I did notice a musty smell in the coach when I got in it at home to drive it to the storage facility.

I don't know about your 2018 my but my 2019 Anthem has the condenser right below the evaporator so it's not pumping cold freon 45 feet and be more efficient.  If blowing cold inside then check drain.  If evap freezes up you will notice less air flow and less cold.

Sorry I see you clear the drain, you may had solved the problem,

Don't know the set up on your particular coach, but it is common to use a 5 micron SEDIMENT ONLY filter for all water going into the coach.  Though it is usually not harmful to people, the sediment found in a lot of well water can clog up plumbing and be deposited in the water heater. It is NOT a good idea to install a charcoal filter here, as you do not want to remove the chlorine from water you will be storing in the potable water tank.

Most coaches have only the single water inlet that can then be directed by a valve to either just provide water to the house or to the potable water tank.

It is fine to have a charcoal filter "post pump". Removing chlorine, etc just before use is fine.

Many coaches have just that arrangement, a sediment only filter in the wet bay and a charcoal filter under the sink for drinking, ice maker, etc.

If someone drinks from fresh tank they may not like the taste of chlorine.

    Hello,

I have a question about in-line water filters.  My I have a new Entegra Class a Diesel and it has two water filters built in to the coach.  I think one is for the water in the coach and one is for the Fresh Water holding tank?  Not 100% sure but my question is about the necessity or benefit of adding an additional in line water filter after the regulator on the campground hook up.  Recently, I was camping and saw several similar coaches that were using the inline filters along with the ones provided with their coach.  Is this overkill/necessary or just added security?  Is there a benefit?  I don't mind spending the money, just not a fan of wasting it.

    Any advise would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Gary

I had to install the filters on my new coach because of CV-19.  The small filter to the right is a 1 micro for the small faust at the sink.  You notice a shut off valve just below left of the filter.  The larger filter to the left is to filter the water coming into the fresh water tank.  Never hurt to have the charcoal filter at the beginning of the hose. There is also a filter inside the refrigerator for the icemaker and through the door water.

Thank all of you for your valued feedback!!

I reviewed my service records and do not see that the fuel filter was changed in the last 10k miles anyway.  I am going to have them change the filter and check the fuel pressure tomorrow to see if that will fix the issue since I will be in the neighborhood tomorrow.  Would have done today but had to order the fuel filter and have it shipped overnight.

Spark plugs and wires were replaced on 12/5/2019 (IGN Wire Set Part # 9645  / AC Delco Spark Plug Platinum Part # 41-805).  For the life of me I thought we had changed the fuel filter but my records nor the dealer have a record of it being changed.... I can pray that is the issue but I am not so sure.  I am interested in HuffyPuffy's suggestion?  Not exactly sure how that would work but sounds like a great idea.

I will keep you posted on the progress

The process I mention is done by professional with profession equipment and cleaner.  I never had a customer regret having it done.

Roadmaster does the same, but you are to take it to their repair truck. Onetime I could not remove my tow bar from the receiver. One of their technicians came to my motor home and removed it, repaired, returned it and installed all at no charge.

I was at a FMCA rally in 2014 and Roadmaster inspect all for free.  My old obsolete tow bar I had was unrepairable and they gave me $300 towards a new one.  Their reason is that they wanted that old obsolete tow bar off the road that had their name on it.  I think it was a Eagle 8000  They came and did the swap with to my site in a golf cart.

John, most shops charge $25.00/tire to mount 22.5 tires plus $25.00/tire to balance.  So you can look at $150.00 or $300.00 depending on what you want.

With new tires the stems should be replaced also.

  7. My experience with extended warranty is this.  In 2012 I purchase a 2006 HR Ambassador and got a extended warranty that cost 5k through extra ride with $200 deductible. .  Two times I used it was was worth it was when the front jack blew and needed to be replaced.  That cost 2K and my cost was $200 plus taxes and shop supplied.  The next time was the 8000 K generator repair.  To remove from the coach and replace inverted and wiring harness and maintenance I told them to do since it was out and covers were off came to $4.5k.  I paid less than $1k to cover the extra work.

The one time it wasn't worth it was when the alternator went out.  Freightliner wrote a book on diagnosis that ran the price way up and the extra ride knew better and refused to pay the extra work.  I don't blame them for refusing to pay half of the $800 bill.  When I took it to them I tole them to just replace the alternator so it tee me off as well.  Their excuse is we have to prove it's bad to the warranty company.  The alternator cost $125 and took maybe 2 hours to replace.

So there are pros and cons to extended warranty but this time I came out ahead.   When that warranty they didn't ask me to renew.  I'm not going to mention how much the extended warranty cost on the new coach but I know there are lots of expensive things that can break on it.  As for small repairs, do them yourself like when I did the exhaust manifold gasket on the old coach.

If you any doing any electronic banking you are disclosing your bank account and routing number.  I used TDS card exclusively when traveling from WA to CA and return this winter,  Purchases 362 gal and saved $28, average was $2,72. price range $1.99 to $3.22 per gal.  Todays prices are $1.42  to $2.82.  I check GasBuddy for prices for surrounding locations that I purchased fuel and only found on e location that was less that I paid and the difference was only  $.01 per gal.

I sure likes the convenience of using the truck stops, easy in, easy out.  Also found the truckers extremely friendly

Yes, I do electronic banking bill paying through my bank only.  Why does TSD want your full SSN?

I have heard a lot about the deep discounts on diesel fuel with these discount cards. The TCS card through FMCA seems to be about $.30 per gallon but I have heard that the TSD Card could be much more.

Anyone have an opinion or preference on which card or both to have in my wallet.

    Let me know your thoughts

I have a big problem with their signup page when they want your SSN, bank account and routing number.

  10. Well it's at the dealer until maybe the end of the month.  Looks like 3 recalls and my long punch list will take awhile.  Afterwards I have to remove a few things in the basement and craw at the rear middle of it with my phone camera.  Then I will know for sure what it got for inverters and batteries.

  11. On my new coach I have a pair of 3000 watts pure sine inverters.  It also have a pair of solar panels.  I don't if the inverters have the charger built in or if it's separate.  Does anybody know as house batteries and inverters are deep inside basement behind panels?  Yes where are they?  LOL  I can see two inverter disconnect switches on passenger side basement and on driver side basement there are indicators lights on transfer protection panel.

I am guessing but I would say the batteries may not have been all that well charged from the dealer. You have a great opportunity (and time) to run a test and see how long they will last.

You could spend the night in it just like we tell people just starting out.:D

    Bill

You may be right about that as must of been a drain of power with 2 inverters going full charge.  It tried to eat my extension cord.

  13. I wouldn't ask anybody to run a test for me.  I also don't know if we be comparing apples to apples but copied from my coach specs I have L16 AGM batteries (4), (6v/390 amp hrs. ea.).  Also have 3,000 watt pure sine wave inverters (2).  I have 2 switches to shut them off in storage.  There is lots of stuff on I didn't know including basement freezer.

  14. Let talk overnight when the solar won't do squat.  When I picked up the coach from the dealer I first plugged in using a extension cord.  The connection to the cord was bad and allowed the  refrigerator to run down the batteries by the next morning.  I plugged the coach cord directly into the garage outlet and that solved that problem.   I kept it plugged in to install water filter and test ice maker.  I finish the test and shut the fridge  off by pressing the off button on the keypad.  This shuts off the compressor and ice maker only.  The pad stays lit and inside light comes on when opening the door.  With all the electronic this coach has, I believe shutting the fridge off overnight will be the best practice when dry camping.

As far as auto start generator, there's also quiet time overnight so generator not allowed to run.
