  1. Me too..........problems sure take the fun out of a good R V trip.
  2. Hi Chuck, you don't have a Cummins dealer near you? Every one I've been in has Onan oil. If it's a diesel Rotella will be my pick anyway. Harvey
  3. I agree with you, no matter the make you are going to have some problems. I don't mind working on mine keeping things in check it's when it has to go to the dealer for something all the time it burns getting it there. Harvey
  4. Isn't Foretravel made here in Texas? They are really nice coaches. My neighbor has a Country Coach and wants to trade it in for one.
  5. Went and picked up the coach today, all seems well at the present time. Going to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. Sure felt good driving it home. Thanks for all the input now we can proceed with the Rving.
  6. Yes sir, that is the key word quality. If you start off with it you have something to work with. My other coach was the first diesel pusher I ever drove, the Workhorse we had prior to that was good too-- just seemed everytime I turned around something was giving problems with the old one. My thinking was get a new one then keep it in good shape so that at the time I retire all is clear and we can stay on the road more ...
  7. Heard from Ithe dealer today, seems Freightliner repaired the check engine light issue now my coach back at the dealer for the rest of the repairs. Hopefully it will be ready this week. Seems one od my kidds are missing can't wait to go to Lubbock and bring it home.
  8. Hey guys thanks for the replies and listing to me whine. Like I said so far the dealer and Tiffin have been getting on with it. I should have my coach back this weekend and am going to take a trip to Dallas next week. Can't wait. That's what gets you your excited to go and then all these problems start overwhelming you kinda takes the wind out of your sail. Hopefully I've got past most of the problems. Harvey
  9. So true, I bought this new one thinking that the old coach would start giving me problems, I do know these are man made, and will have a few problems, and I can't take away from the dealer ,and Tiffin for being right on what ever problem I had or am having, just feel you buy one of these coaches at least get a trip or two before you have to get some things repaired. guess I'm a lucky puppy. You would think after reading the web sight and all the checking they do before it leaves the factory, then they drive it 900- 1400 to the dealer the problems would show up then, maybe they need better delivery drivers to report problems to the dealer, I know the drawers had to come out on him driving from Redbay to Lubbock TX. all & all it's going to be OK. feels better to vent......lol
  10. They had to replace the DEF sensor.
  11. Getting a little discouraged with getting all the bugs worked out. We have had so far: The steps broke the pivot bolt slammed shut on the wife's foot it hurt her ankle thank God it just bruised it. Had another set put on in La. Driver slide won't hold. Have to stop every 50 miles or so, set the brake and put it in. All the drawers on the dash, and one on the step won't stay in. Tiffin said they have a fix drawer latches. Why didn't they installed at the factory? Guess I expected too much. It's back at the dealer now to get all this work done. Hope all else goes well with this coach. My hat is off the the dealer. They have done everything in their power to get it repaired. It was a long trip to Jackson Miss and back wresting with that slide. This coach has the def and I also had a engine shut down due to that. The Freightliner dealer said two months to leave it. Took it to Cummins. Had to buy the part from Freightliner take it to Cummins and they installed it. So far roughing it smoothly has been real aggravating and time consuming. Other than that it's a great coach. Sorry for the long post just needed to vent. Lol
  12. Appreciate the input. I like the idea of using the air brakes off the coach, seems though the brake buddy would be easy to install, just what to do with it when not in use. the air cylinder wouldn't be hard to put away. I will be checking out the M&G that's a new one on me, THX guy's..
  13. Want some input on the best braking system to install. Harvey
  14. Good answers, kinda what I was thinking, for this cable & conduit they ran the conduit has a grey plastic covering metal flex, and it's completely into so the metal is rubbing on the wire's scary!!! I am going to work on it this weekend sure don't need any extra aggravation, I am already married. lol again sure appreciate the respons.I am going to take some before & after shots to post. Harvey
  15. Good Morning guy's I'm going to get a pic of this and will post it. the conduit didn't pull out of the gen set, it makes a loop towards the rear when the gen is rolled back in it gets in to a kink. I called Tiffin yesterday the tech told me he had seen this before to just try and move it in a manner for it not to kink anymore. I really feel the cable was too short to begin with so we will get a picture and some great input and get the solution in progress. I sure enjoy this forum and the great folks on here. Harvey
  16. While servicing the gen set found that the conduit that the main power wires go though has broken and when you roll it back in it is flexing right there so a real good chance of a short is present. has any one else had this happen and if so what kind of conduit can you use that will take the flexing. I'm thinking on calling Tiffin maybe they have had a upgrade.
  17. I bought two steer tires at our local deal he charged me 533.00 per tire mounted and he put the balance beads in. I still need six more to have a full set of new tires. I like the idea of not past seven years on these tires. After reading this post I called the guy and he said he could get me a better price with this program, wish i would have read this two weeks ago. By the way these are 275 80R 22.5.
  18. Should the electric element keep up while on shore power? Mine wouldn't blow very hot until I turned on the diesel burner. Being a newbie to this hydro hot system I thought as long as the water was hot it would be good. Seems with all three zones on it took all the heat out the electric element could make.
  19. I have yet to find the info in the manual that came with this Tiffin. Too many if, and, or but's. Would like to have a manual specific to this coach. I can find any place with a good map.
  20. You don't need a charge wire anyway, if you read the manual it has a section on how to put the car neutral when it is disable, my MKX has a door. I pop off the cover and with one finger pull up the pin that keeps you from moving the gear selector out of park then put the car in N and never light up the dash. That's all you have to do take less than a minute.
  21. Well......all I can tell you is this pusher goes a lot farther on the fuel than the gasser I had. My brother has a Ford and it uses pretty close to what the other one did. I have never figured the fuel mileage on the coach but it is better than the gasser that's all I was saying. Not worth arguing over just get in one of the coaches with a 8.1 check it for your self. I had it at the dealer making sure the engine was right. Put on the edge kit headers ex. programmer and still would not pass a gas station. I'm HAPPY,HAPPYHAPPY,
  22. That would be my question, why trade from a Diesel Pusher? I had a Workhorse with the 8.1 gas engine took it all up the west coast and down though Yellowstone. It did fine but the fuel like to have broke me. This diesel pusher I have now can round trip Dallas from Odessa and still have a quarter tank of fuel. The old Workhorse I would fill it in Odessa then again in Sweetwater, then in Dallas and same on the way home. My brother has the V-10 in his and it get rid of the fuel about the same pace. This Tiffin bus I have now I wouldn't trade for any gas burning engine. We enjoyed the other motor home but didn't know any better. Just Saying..
  23. i'm going to have to study on this I was told to always turn it off while on shore power.
  24. Battery's can get a loose plate if you jar it just right it will short and drain your battery. I had one on our toad like that-- one day fine next day no start. The dealer tested it and said all was OK. So the next stop was to buy a new battery replaced and have had no more problem.
