Charles. Welcome to the Forum!
I think you'll find that your chassis and engine is a 2006. In 07' there was 2 Beaver Contessa ( new model) on the line to be built as a 07' model, when Safari who owned Beaver, went and filed for Bankruptcy. Pre liquidation of Beaver, the few people that was left, decided to finish building the 2 Beavers on line and sell them as 08's. At the time of liquidation of Beaver and Safari in 09', both Contessas could not be found and presumed that they where sold!
You have one off the two Contessas ever built by Beaver! Congratulation!!!
The only place that I know off that you might get parts is CCC ( Country Coach Connection) in Junction City, Oregon.

Little confused, a 400 Cummins=$50K, but a 450 Cummins=$39K?! Lot of money. Also ref. 400 + 15% exceeds the Allison 3000 rating. A 450 runs with a 3000!
When I spoke with Cummins last year about increasing HP on my 425, they could do it, but recommended against it, because the gearing within my 3000 would have to be re calibrated for the extra HP and that would also change the computer settings for the engine and tranny.
The cost was not worth the extra 8-10% gain....I was actually looking for more torque, not HP.

CAT (wish they still did DP market), Cummins, Detroit. I only deal in RV, not over the road 18 wheelers! This is a MOTOR HOME FORUM and as such, I don't much care, what engine does what, at 300,000 miles!
Having said that, sorry, I'm not a "Brand" type of person, I care more about getting from point A to B and did not buy a DP based on mpg. A DP rides better, handles better and pulls better than a gasser, period! It costs more, way more than a gas rig to purchase and maintain, but that's the trade off to get what you want, if you can afford it.
The comment about "I don't like CAT", stupid! Ask Ray, cats are nice!!!
My 2 cents.

Brett.
After walk around and sniff test, all seems to be OK. Don't have any records from original owners, so for peace of mind, I will have the grease replaced in Amarillo on my way to Indiana! The same applies to adjustment of bearings.
Not just the front, also steering axle and tag.
As always, thanks for the info.

Herman.
How will your arms feel tomorrow?
I don't want to find out that I can only do 64! LOL

Be nice to have one USA and one Texas! We have a thing about the "Lone Star State"....

I use the freezer...marked beef, chicken and pork, with bad date! Your ice box is good for about 1,800 degrees F. Wrap in foil and place in Zip lock!

07' was the beginning of the end! Beaver, dropped off the map in 09', along with Country Coach! CC tried to buy Beaver in 07' but lost to Safari and Safari moved Beaver from Bend, OR.
I might add that Beaver filed for Chapter 11 in 07'! Don't be too harsh on the few tech's that were not laid off!

Little or a lot, your welcome. Next rally will be at Carolina Crossroads RV Park, Roanoke Rapids, NC. 9/19 to 9/25.

Do you have TYRON on the front rims? If so, then pull and remove tires from rims, you have a loose band...
-
Thanks Brett. Will check in morning and let you know!

Got the same system. Turned out to be a blown fuse. The wrong size fuse was installed, it's 15 amp for marine and 20 amp for RV. Changed to a 20 and no problems for a year now! I also dump at 3/4 full.

Miller, welcome to the Forum!
You wrote that this is a major financial decision. What is the age off the tires? The service record will tell you what to expect to pay each year. MPG?
Insurance?

Welcome to FMCA and the Forum!
If you want to mount one now, you can do as Herman said, use double stick tape. You can also drill 2 holes, one on each side (long way) off plate and mount on ladder with electric ties & order the bracket (2-4 week delivery).
As Herman asked, have you joined a chapter yet? Great way to meet people with your interests! SWG stands for Swinging Golfers, web site via Google.
Good luck and safe travels

Good morning!
Woke up wondering how often or at what mileage, should the bearings be checked, replaced or repacked?
Carl
-
Herman. What tech? CC closed their doors about 6 years ago!
Couple of years ago, I read an article in FMCA magazine, about how the kids may come out with a CC in 2016....nothing since.

Are the tires original? When where they aligned? How does the sidewall's look, any cracking?
Carl

Is that bed by Innomax of Denver, CO.?

Dave, welcome to FMCA and Forum!
You mentioned Golf Cart, is that for tooling around CG or do you play golf? Swinging Golfers (SWG) is a chapter off FMCA and we have a web page that you can Goggle.
One sure way to meet people, is to join one or more chapters and FMCA has hundreds of them, all over North America. If you go to FMCA main site and sign in, click on chapters.
Good luck and enjoy all that we offer!

epstep. I have Blue Sky for MH. Everything else, is covered by USAA. Have you checked BS to see if they have a liability coverage for your lot? Allstate comes to mind also.
There are Life Insurance Company's that also are into vehicle and property coverage. Goggle it!

Welcome to the Forum. You might consider renting some chains. Been over both roads, but not in May...July and August, and on both occasions, I ran into sleet and snow on some of the passes.
Last year, after the Redmond, Oregon rally, I was in Salt Lake City in early September and decided not to take 80 East, good thing, 18 wheelers, RV's and car's was stuck for 24 hours due to snow and Ice!
84 and 80 are good roads, you just have to be aware of the weather in the Mountains!

Welcome!
Cummins Coach Care, services a lot more than just engines and generator. I take mine in every 15,000 miles or 1 year, whatever comes first. As long as you keep the components serviced as recommended by the owners manual....you'll have no problems.
Gremlins are everywhere, so take them as they come, especially on a new coach!
Enjoy the ride

I have a Sentry at the house, built in someplace, By accident I started collecting watches in 1965. My father bought me a Daytona "Paul Newman" Rolex # 38 off 125.
My dad passed in 83' & I got his watches...had them and my Rolex (that lived in a drawer for 18 years) appraised...I became a collector!![](https://community.fmca.com/uploads/emoticons/xdefault_wub.png.pagespeed.ic.er20ed6nCZ.png)
I also, have a Sentry in the coach, because watches don't like to live in a freezer!
Like yours, it's portable, but I don't have a dog. Just a 20ga!
Sentry also makes very good gun safes.
