  1. I still use Gas Buddy.com to find the best price on fuel. You being in CA. I guess there is no good fuel prices! In Oklahoma, on I-40, I filled up ( 83 gal.) at Loves for $2.18 a gal.

Yesterday, on I-20E, at Pilot, I got it for $2.38 a gal. in Anniston, Alabama. I generally take 70 to 90 gal at a time, so if I can save a nickel or more per gal. I'm happy.

When using Google Earth, you got to have a sense of hummer! Just love it, when your RV park is in a field or shopping center!

The Jelly Stone Park that I'm in now, 35 miles from Atlanta, GA., Earth showed it in a river, with a "DAN Dive Flag"!

  2. BF Goodrich, Goodyear, Michelins, Cooper. They're all made in China?! Did not know that.

Bill is right on! Have you measured clearance for 19.5 tires? Suspension? Will it affect the shifting points of tranny? You'll have to adjust speedometer!

Don't forget that the Travco was nicknamed the "Ferrari" of Motor Homes. Clocked at 98mph at GMC test track! That was on original equipment...I

foresee you spending a wad of money! For what?.

    My 2 cents worth!

  3. Since you live in Houston and we can have anywhere from 25 to 80+ degrees in December! I-10 is not a "walk in the park" either, I have had plenty of snow, sleet and ice in Dec. & Jan., in TX, NM & AZ! <_<

I would definitely take Ray's advice, after all, he lives in the Puget Sound area! :)

The only thing I would do differently, is take Hwy. 95 from Blythe, CA. to Needles and take I-40 to Barstow and then Hwy. 58 to Bakersfield! Then I-5N.

  4. Wayne.

I found the little Gremlin! No lose or improperly connected wires, there are 3 going in to back of sensor, One is ground and one each to

alarm and engine light. I traced ground wire and unscrewed it, cleaned and replaced. Turned on engine and got Beep. Unplugged unit

    and no more Beep! LOL.

Called Spartan, in MI. The coolant is Fleetguard, same that Cummins recommends. Cummins Coach Care, is who Spartan recommends,

unless I want to come to Spartan! No! CCC headquarters is in S. Atlanta...I'll be there Thursday!

My way of "Sharing my Wealth", before the IRS! :)<_<

  5. What we did in CO before I left, is take out the screw and drilled 1/16" into arm, replace screw and tightened. Had to re tighten today.

The worst road I have been on in years! I-40E in the last 60 miles of Arkansas! I thought I-10, between Lafayette and Henderson Bayou, LA was the pits...it's as soft as a pillow!!!

  6. Wayne & Christine.

    Welcome to the Forum!

Never had a tt, something about getting wet in a storm. In a coach you need not get soaked waiting to hook up in campground or just riding it out in a rest area! Generator and the comforts off home, with a cold fridge.

Sounds like you got the year well planed. If you have not done it yet, go to main site, log in and click on Chapters...we got something for every taste.

If your a golfer, Google Swinging Golfers (SWG Web ) and get a list off our rally's.

    Enjoy the ride!

  7. Roger, why I asked what your driving, is in line with what I'm thinking...a lighter coach with LT tires, would probably have a longer tire life, than a 36 to 45 DP.

    Is that a reasonable thought?

Or am I wandering alone in the woods again?!

  8. Thanks, Brett. I'll call Spartan today. I'm almost getting used to the Beep and yellow ck engine! I do notice that when it's on, my ability to climb is 5-10 mph less, than when it's off.

Wayne, thanks for info. I'll go engine diving later...if weather permits. Currently, I'm getting some hail. Just what I needed! <_<

My coolant level, cold, is just above the see thru bubble. Hot??? My tank is metal. Have not lost any since Colorado, now in Memphis, until tomorrow. :) BBQ!
