  1. Thank you, Brett. I will call them later this morning. Read about your suggesting distilled water on another post. The compatibility issue was also on my mind yesterday....my eyes has a problem reading a 2 font!

Small print on legal documents, fine. On important information, like compatibility is insane! <_<

  2. Rich, thank you for the fast reply!

Wish I could answer your questions, but I have no book or info on my 09' 425 Cummins. Never messed with coolant since I leave it to Cummins Coach Care to take care off it. Every 12 months or 15,000 miles. That is engine, liquids, oil change, ck filters, etc. Also, Allison and Generator!

Had no warning on Silverleaf....oil temp was 202. Coolant 198-203.

  3. Yesterday, coming from Ruidoso, NM to Roswell, NM my check engine light came on and so did the coolant level low message, with the beep, beep. Outside temp was 77.

I filled with fuel in Roswell and got 2 gallons of Rotella Ultra ELC to go. Checked my Silver Leaf and the engine computer both on my way down mountain and between Roswell and Grant, NM., coolant temp showed 198-203, outside temp from Roswell to Grant was 87-98. The warning lights and signal, never came back on! My Cruise control was set at 58 all day.

Question is, do I add coolant or distilled water before leaving for Cortez, CO, this morning? Or leave it alone?

Cummins did an annual service 4,618 miles and 9 months ago!

Welcome. I would practice backing up with toad attached. Both my wife and I did that, it came in handy on more than one occasion. Since I have traveled solo for the past 25 years, I have, in a lot off cases, not been able to separate toad from bus.

5-10 feet in most cases, is what was needed. At my last fill up, the 18 wheeler in front off me, overshot the DEF pump by about 5 feet, I put it in revers and gave him enough room to do the same...made his day!

    Good luck.

  5. Brett.

That is the first time I have heard, that such a law even exits in any state. Why then, would FMCA have a annual reunion in such an environment? Members and non-members travel from all over, at great expense, to see as many new coaches and vendors as possible, in one location.

As a member, I have 2 main reasons to be at a reunion, one is for the fellowship and the other is to be able to buy! As a National Director for SWG INTO, it's an obligation.

Sorry, but I'm not a believer in PC!

Steve, don't take it as a personal attack on your State or you!

  6. We are not a truck. Then again, a motorhome can't stop as fast as a car! The mass of my 45' DP, dictates how fast I feel comfortable at any given condition. The speed limit above 65 means nothing to me...in Texas, most rural roads are 70 or 75 for both cars and trucks, I-10 in West TX. is 80! We do not differentiate between hauling a trailer/toad or not. I tend to set my cruise control at 63, because I'm not in a hurry to get anywhere! If I was, I would fly!

California's Interstates if your towing = 55 max. There probably are other states, with the same restriction!

    Stay safe out there...

  7. Herman.

I had mine serviced in January and it's working fine so far. :) I was wondering about the seals and internal components-- if higher than B-10 would have an adverse affect. :(:o

I'm heading for Panama the 9th of Oct. Cruise from LA to Puerto Rico!
