  1. We are from the Ohio/Indiana area and real close to Tom Raper RV which has been in business I believe since the 60's and the largest dealer in the Midwest area. Just found out last weekend at an RV show that Camping World is purchasing Tom Raper RV. Heard they will not have a showroom, but will turn that into the parts/service area. An end of an era for this area. My husband and I would go to the showroom to just look around when there was nothing better to do at the time. Just thought I'd throw that out there for any of you maybe thinking of coming out to Tom Raper RV. I believe Camping World will take over the end of January.
  2. We upgraded our data to 15MG last month with AT&T and they doubled it to 30 until we cancel, at no extra charge. Today I just got a letter from them saying they are starting a carryover of unused data from month to month. There are 6 of us using this plan so any extra data is always welcome.
  3. Great site Wolfe10. Thanks for sharing that. As always, every time I'm on this forum I learn something new and informative.
  4. Thanks for all the info. Sounds like a good company to put my money in. We signed on with GSRA, and I hope we never have to use it.
  5. I'm talking about the coach breaker (not the campground breaker). Not the AC breaker either. Service is 30 AMP Coach is 30 AMP Fridge is running on AC Water Heater is LP Gas The breaker is the 30 AMP main breaker as everything goes off. The AC breaker does not trip. TButler - Thanks for the site. I will check it out and pass it along to my DH. I was hoping there was something we could do to stop this from happening. We have friends who have a 50AMP coach and run both AC's, we only have one, along with an electric full size fridge and water heater and they do not have this issue.
  6. Is this natural? Each time I use the microwave or turn on the hair dryer while the A/C is on, the coach breaker will trip. Is there something we can do to prevent this from happening?
  7. We will be staying at a friends who says he has 100amp in his work shop. Our M/H is 30amp, how can we use this?
  8. We are thinking about signing up for roadside assistance through Good Sam. We would like to know experiences anyone has had in using their services, and are they limited? Meaning, do you only get say one service call per year for a tire repair, or tow?
  9. This site has some of the best advice I've seen as yet.
  10. We are staying at Rocky Top Campground, Blountville, TN off I-81 - Exit 63. It is a great little campground and easy access for big rigs. They get a lot of over nighters, and folks like us who have family in the area and want to stay longer. All the facilities are very clean and the entire grounds are very well kept. There is no pool or much to do for kids, as they mostly cater to adults. But it meets our needs and they are a Good Sam member, and also give military discounts. You can't beat their weekly rates, only $207. We would recommend them and we will be staying here again.
  11. Thanks everyone. Some very good info here, and a wealth of knowledge.

  13. In the owners manual it states the water heater is reached through an access panel on the outside of the motor home.
  14. We are thinking of towing our 2011 Chevy Equinox and wondering if anyone could give us a ballpark estimate of the cost of getting everything we will need, including wiring the car.
  15. Can someone please tell me how many gallons of LP it takes to make a pound? We just had 9 gallons put in our LP tank.
  16. Thanks Herman, found it. That's a good little site.
  17. We are looking at staying at the Rocky Top Campground in Blountville, TN area, which is very close to Bristol. We tried finding some reviews on it but was unsuccessful. It is a highly rated Good Sam campground, but we would like to hear from fellow campers if anyone has stayed there and what it is like. Mainly, is it a safe family campground? http://www.rockytopcampground.com/
  18. That is what we were thinking Wolfe. Thank you for the confirmation.
  19. When we bought our motorhome (used) from a dealer, it came with only one coach battery. We have been told that we should get the two other batteries because that is what it has room for, and if we don't, then things will not work as they should. Any help with this question will be appreciated.
  20. TamJim, If you are talking about the links I posted, feel free to borrow. On page 1, I posted a link for "Car In Tow".
  21. http://www.braddandhall.com/productcart/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=68 Depending on where you are at in Michigan, this place is in Elkhart, IN. I have only reviewed their work on line, but it looks nice.
  22. John, That's a good one. May have to make that too. lol
